Blood Donor Recognition

The weekend of January 27 and 28th we will recognize those that donated blood at our four blood drives in 2017. There were 303 units donated. That is remarkable when most Catholic Churches in the Diocese average 60-70 for the whole year! Thank you to the Knights of Columbus who run the drives and fix lunch for the donors. Rev. Charles Landry celebrates 35 years of Priestly Service

St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church invites you to join in celebrating Fr. Charles Landry's thirty-five years as a priest. The Eucharistic liturgy will be at 10:15 AM on Sunday, February 4 at St. Gabriel Church (3625 Highway 75 in St. Gabriel, Louisiana). Dinner will follow in the Parish Activity Center.

Prime Timers Trip to Palace Casino

Trip to the Palace Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi will be on Thursday, February 8. Bus departs St. Alphonsus at 7:00am and returns at approximately 5:30pm. Cost is $15.00 per person which includes motor bus transportation and $15.00 free play at the casino. This is a smoke free casino. Buffet cost is $13.00 and is not included in the trip cost. Sign up in the parish office.

Cajun Comic Relief

Join the Prime Timers on Saturday, March 10 for a Cajun Comedy show in Lafayette, Louisiana. Cost is $76.00 per person which includes: Motor coach transportation, tickets to the show, back stage pass, lunch. Loading of bus at 1:00 PM, departure at 1:15 PM and return approximately 9:30 PM. Registration and full payment due by February 9. Payment is non-refundable; name changes can be made. Cost is based on 40 passengers, if less, cost will vary. Sign up in the parish office.

St. Alphonsus School New Student Open House

St. Alphonsus School will be hosting a New Student Open House on Sunday, January 28th. The Open House will begin in the cafeteria at 1:00 PM, and tours will continue until 3:00 PM. We invite all interested families to come visit and see what St. Alphonsus School has to offer. Please spread the word to anyone that may be interested in joining our St. Alphonsus school family. Ash Wednesday Retreat

A Day of Prayer and Reflection Wednesday, February 14 9:30am- 4:00pm

Guest speaker, Mrs. Staci Gulino, will speak about “Woundedness & Healing through Faith, Reason, & Mercy.” Our afternoon speaker, Olivia Gulino, will speak about, “I was the prodigal son’s brother.” The day will be filled with hope, beautiful music and prayer to lift up our minds and hearts to the Lord as we begin our Lenten journey.

Join us at 8:30 Mass followed by the distribution of ashes. Coffee and packet pick up immediately after Mass. A light lunch will be included and pre-registration is required by February 7th. Adult Formation - Dignity of Life

Dignity is as essential as oxygen to breath and water to drink to sustain life. Life is not a matter of place, things or comfort; rather, it concerns the essential human rights of life for every individual, and human dignity we are each

called to uphold from conception to natural death. Join us on Tuesday, January 23 at 7:00 PM in the St. Francis Room for a presentation on "The Dignity of Life". Guest speaker is Danielle Van Haute from the Diocese of Baton Rouge Office of Marriage and Family Life.

Steubenville on the Bayou

Registration is now open for Steubenville on the Bayou Youth Conference. High school teens interested in attending must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit to Mrs. Cindi in the Faith Formation Office. The conference will be June 15-18 and the cost of the entire trip is $250. Registration is due Friday, April 20. Rates may increase after deadline due to guidelines set by the conference.
