INTRODUCTION

The ED Auto Debit Report – Debit Information Sent to Treasury Report File is used to provide schools with a mechanism to identify the amount of funds the U.S. Treasury

Department (Treasury) will be auto-debiting from their bank accounts for U.S. Department of Education (ED) transactions. To allow for easy processing, if a school has subscribed for auto-debit, it will be able to send transactions to Lender Funds Management (LFM) for ED loans. LFM will then format a file to send to Treasury to allow Treasury to auto-debit the funds for the transactions.

Schools will receive an email notification that the report is available, if they are subscribed to 01-SC-46 (Manual ACH Transfer from School) for ED Return Manifest Debits or 01-SC-47 (Automated ACH Transfer from School) for Change Transaction Send File (CTSF) ED Debits. The report is provided as a downloadable file that can easily be imported and used within Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.

identification number assigned to a school by a reinsurer. The field format is 9999999999.

3 SCHOOL LOC ID (School Location ID) — A 9-digit field that indicates the unique identification number assigned by EAGLE II for an organization, customer, or customer location. The field format is 999999999.

4 LFM BATCH ID — A 9-digit field that uniquely identifies a request register. The field format is 999999999.

5 RECORD TYPE — A 11-character field that identifies whether the record is a Summary record or a Detail record. Detail records include more fields of information than Summary records. Valid values are: Summary

6 DEBIT AMOUNT — A 10-digit field that identifies the amount of funds the Treasury needs to debit from the school account.

7 BORROWER SSN (Borrower Social Security Number) — The 11-character identifier assigned to the borrower by the U.S. Social Security

Administration. For Federal PLUS loans for parents of undergraduate, dependent students (Parent PLUS), this is the parent’s Social Security Number. For Federal PLUS loans for graduate and professional students (Graduate PLUS), this is the student’s Social Security Number. The field format is 999-99-9999.

8 BORROWER NAME — A 32-character field indicating the name of the borrower

identified in BORROWER SSN (field 7).

9 LOAN PERIOD — A 23-character field indicating the beginning date and ending date of the academic period covered by the loan. The field format is MM/DD/CCYY – MM/DD/CCYY.

Example: 01/10/2009 – 01/10/2010 (January 10, 2009 – January 10, 2010)

10 COMMONLINE UNIQUE ID — A 17-character code indicating the unique

identification number assigned to a loan request. The field contains the code assigned by the organization that transmitted the first electronic record containing information about the loan request. The CommonLine Unique ID is split into a 6-character participant ID, a 4-character participant branch ID, a 1-character system ID, and a 6-character incremental code. The field format

is 999999999XX999999.

11 DISBURSEMENT ID — A 15-character field that uniquely identifies a lender disbursement. A lender disbursement represents the funds sent to the school and fees sent to the guarantor for an education loan. The loan disbursement ID is composed of a 2-character database code, a unique 8-digit loan request

sequence number, a 1-digit loan sequence number, and a 2-digit disbursement sequence number. The field format is XX-999999999-99.

12 LOAN PROGRAM — A 4-character field used to indicate the type of loan program associated with an education loan. Valid values are:

GRPL = Federal Graduate PLUS loan PLUS = Federal Parent PLUS loan STFS = Subsidized Federal Stafford loan STFU = Unsubsidized Federal Stafford loan

13 TRAN DATE (Transaction Date) — A 10-character field that indicates the date LFM expects the Treasury to auto-debit the school accounts for ED

transactions. The field format is MM/DD/CCYY.

14 TRAN TYPE (Transaction Type) — A 27-character field that indicates the type of ED transaction LFM expects the Treasury to auto-debit from the school accounts. Valid values are:
