Archive, exhibition and research centreETH Zurich’s Thomas Mann Archives are an archive, exhibition facility and research centre all rolled into one, and freely acces-sible for specialists and interested members of the general pub-lic. They safeguard and look after the literary legacy of Thomas Mann, which they have been mediating to academic research and the public ever since they were founded in 1956. New items are constantly being added to the holdings.

HoldingsThe Thomas Mann Archives own the highest number of original items on Thomas Mann in the world and are the most important research centre specialising in the author. They contain the complete literary legacy of the writer, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1929, including:
— Manuscripts and materials — Diaries and notebooks — Letters from and to Thomas and the
Mann family — Historical press documents — Photographs — Thomas Mann’s personal library

Your visitThe Thomas Mann Archives are currently housed in a temporary location, around 20 minutes from the city centre. A free shuttle bus, the ETH-Link, travels between the Main ETH Zurich Building and the Hönggerberg campus, departing from the subway beneath ETH-Polyterrasse. Moreover, three public transport bus lines serve the bus stops ETH Hönggerberg and Hönggerberg: lines 37, 69 and 80.Consult www.tma.ethz.ch/en/your-visit.html prior to your visit for further information.
