ARTIST SPOTLIGHTTony McKee Sponsored by: Go Time Records !Current Single: “Lightning Bugs” !Writers: Bill DiLuigi, Tony McKee !Hometown: Campbellsville, Kentucky !Mini Bio: A bit of a contradiction (he counts old Hollywood MGM musicals and horror 2ilms amongst his favorites, he’s from Kentucky but has never cared for hunting), it's an odd and unlikely combination of attributes that de2ine Tony McKee and his style. After a lifetime of cultivating his sound, his debut single "Lightning Bugs" showcases the end result: a blend of classic country and genuine nostalgia with some unapologetic honesty mixed in. Bitten by the music bug at a young age, McKee performed anywhere and everywhere he could, from leading worship to taking part in competitions like the K-‐Country Showdown. As his craft progressed, he tried his hand in multiple genres, 2irst recording a gospel album and touring churches and, later, recording a pop album. But McKee ultimately found his way back to his roots and country music, working with producer Kent Wells (Dolly Parton) to record "Lightning Bugs,” part of new album release, American Dream. ! Interesting Facts: -‐Huge fan of classic Hollywood 2ilms/musicals and actors -‐ particularly James Dean. -‐Wrote scores for several independent horror 2ilms while living in LA. !Connect: www.tonymckeemusic.com
