PER RESIDENT REQUEST….I was asked by a resident to re-print a previous letter in
the Tidings again for those residents who might have not read it in the past, here goes;
Management has received many complaints from residents about other residents’ animals (particularly dogs). Dog feces is not getting picked up immediately as per the Rules and Regulations, dogs are being let out without being on leashes, dogs are being allowed to “do their business” on another resident’s lawn, etc. Back when this issue of changing this community to be a pet friendly community, the property owners and management were very concerned that this might be a result to the rule change. It has happened to our beautiful community. Management is getting complaints about all the above, as well as finding feces left on the road, finding bags of dog feces that were thrown in the storm sewers, urine being left in the mailroom, and not cleaned up, dog (s) being left unattended in a lanai or screened in room barking like crazy, yellow spots in yards of residents who don’t even have an animal, dogs being walked on an expandable leash rather than as the Rules state; on a non-expandable leash no longer than 5 feet in length. This is enough……….
In the Rules and Regulations it states under the
“Pet Agreement”, The opportunity to have a pet in the community is a privilege, and not a right, and may be revoked if Community Rules and Regulations are not fully complied with. Upon revocation of said privilege, residents shall have seven (7) days to remove the animal (s) from the property. Failure to comply will result in eviction pursuant to section 73.061, Florida statutes.
One more item requested by another resident to put
into the Tidings again, here goes;Per the Rules and Regulations #18 RESIDENT
CONDUCT B it states; No “alcoholic beverages” as defined in section 561.04 (4) (a), Florida Statutes, may be used or consumed on or in any common area or recreational facility on the Community except that such consumption or use may be allowed for resident-sponsored functions or activities upon prior written consent of Community Management. There is to be no more beer, wine, etc. in the pool area, or in any other common area unless at a residents sponsored function, i.e.; pot luck dinners, New Year’s Eve party, etc.
If any other suggestions for the Tidings, please let
Linda Jackson lot 25 know, as she is now “running it” after Dale retired from the Tidings.

A NOTE FROM MIKE
Hello and MERRY CHRISTMAS!It’s nice to see more and more residents back
down from the frigid north. I have some reminders for everybody, here goes;
Please make sure you are putting the HOA
information i.e.; yearly fees, ballots, etc. in the HOA box in the mailroom. The HOA slot is located on the slanted wall across from the entrance door into the mailroom.
Please remember that the front office needs
current information of your contact numbers, current addresses up north, and updated emergency contact information should the need arise. There have been several needs to contact residents up north within the previous years that the office cannot make contact.
PLEASE use caution while driving in our community, please reduce your speed to the posted speed limits, and stop at all stop signs. I have had 2-instances where our residents almost got hit due to people taking corners without stopping and almost running our residents into the lawns to not get hit. Other residents have had issues with people speeding thru the community as well. Please be RESPECTFUL to other residents.
Dogs need to be on leashes at all times outside, and those leashes must not be the extendable ones per the Rules of the Community. Additionally, no dog is to be allowed to go on another’s rented lot for any reason unless the dog and its owner are invited. Dogs don’t know where to go, so the dog’s owner has to be the responsible one to keep the animals off of other lots, and the community center common area.
Please refrain from feeding outside cats, as they
are creating problems for other residents and their properties. Screens are being ripped, cat paws are being found on other residents’ vehicles, cat feces are found in flowerboxes of other residents, catfights are being heard during the nights, enough. Too many problems with outside feeding - please STOP!
Guests are not allowed to bring in their dogs for a
visit, even for a daily visit. Please walk your lot to see how your home looks,
any mold, dirt, on the sides, front or rear of your
home, please power wash, is your carport cluttered? Household items in your carport like chairs, dressers, and tables? These are not to be outside, please remove them or bring them back inside. Does your lot have a dead bush or tree? Please remove them; does your driveway need re-painted/stained? Please paint/stain it. Bushes or trees overgrown, trim them back, fence line growing away from the fence? Cut it back. Storage and clutter behind your shed? Remove it. Screens in bad shape? Replace them. We have enough residents who can assist or do the things that are needed to do if you are unable to do these on your own.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTING CONTESTThe Christmas Light and Music Show Committee
would like to invite you to enter our contest for the best decorated home in Pescara Lake. The entry fee is $2.00 and the judging will be done by three impartial judges, sometime between December 13th and the 18th. The winner will be announced on Saturday, December 19th during our Music and Light Show. We will be serving hot chocolate and cookies in the community center at that time. Please see Pam Nebel, Lot 232, Jerry Poisson, Lot 61, Dave and Mary Tennant, Lot 233 or Sonya Albaugh, Lot 268. We would like to have all entries in by December 12th. Entry forms can be found in the mailroom and community center. Last year Pescara Lake saw more decorations than in the past and they were all beautiful, but not many participated in the contest. Please remember that this is just for fun and all proceeds (only $2.00) go to making a bigger and better Christmas Light show for next year. Looking forward to all the beautiful decorations.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
CHRISTMAS MUSIC & LIGHT SHOW
Are you ready? We are. We have added four more songs this year, which brings us to a total of ten. Some new lights and of course our Nutcrackers will be standing guard at the front door.
Our first show will be on November 28th from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. We will run the show from Friday night through Sunday night until the 1st of the year.
On Saturday, December 5th, we will be serving hot chocolate and homemade cookies in the community center. We will also have a mini Christmas bazaar that night, with door prizes and lots of ornaments and gifts to buy. We will do this again on December 19th, when we announce the winner of the Christmas lighting contest and the quilt raffle. On the hot Chocolate nights, the lights will be extended to 9:00 pm.
Please understand that this is MUSIC AND LIGHTS. The lights are driven by a PLC from inside the building. The program will supply Christmas music that causes the lights to move, dance and flicker in rhythm with the songs. To get the full effect of the show you should come to the clubhouse and watch, not just drive by. We would love to extend the days and hours of the show, but only if we get more people to come out. So please mark these dates on your calendar. Hope to see you there.
FREE HOT CHOCOLATE AND COOKIE NIGHT
On Saturday, December 5th, the Pescara Music and Light Committee will be having a FREE hot chocolate and cookie night. It was a big hit last year and should be better this year. We will be having a mini Christmas Bazaar at the same time. Door prizes, raffles, homemade ornaments, stocking stuffers and gifts. We have three beautiful sets (12 in set) of glass ornaments, each in their own wooden boxes, which were donated to us. (Thank you LJ) We have decided to raffle these off. So bring your $1.00 bills and buy a ticket. You will be sorry if you miss this one.
On Saturday, December 19th we will have another FREE Hot chocolate and cookie night, where we will announce the winners of the Christmas Lighting contest and the winner of the Christmas quilt.
So please mark your calendars. Come out and enjoy the lights and music and mingle with your neighbors. We can’t wait to see you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
PESCARA LAKE BOWLINGToday (November 16) was the starting of the
Pescara Lake bowling season. We have ten teams in attendance with two new members: Bob Davis and Diana Zech.
A moment of silence was held in memory of our loss of team member Richard Nebel. Richard passed away this summer and will be missed by his team members and everyone at Pescara Lake.
Six of our friends have not made their journey South as of yet. Team Pineapple -- we are patiently waiting for the four of you. Also Dick and Sharon Auger should be joining us shortly. There are still a few places available for anyone who is interested in having good exercise and fun. Please contact Elaine at 941-751-0686.
Elaine Jurkowski, Secretary.

HELLO FROM BINGO!!!Look at all these “Happy People” playing Bingo
at our Clubhouse!
They are here at Bingo with their friends and neighbors hoping to hit one of the ‘BIG’ prizes, Pay-outs are based on the number of people playing that night… So, the more players the bigger the wins.
We also want to thank all of the volunteers for their help in making this activity possible. Larry & Joe
HOW THE HECK DID WE GET THE NEW POOL COVER
INSTALLED???Not without the help of a great team! Many thanks to Rich Strasser, Tony Maletto,

PINOCHLE GROUP HAS FORMEDWe’ll keep trying till we get it right!
After some problems with Friday, we have decided to meet at the clubhouse on Mondays at 1:30 pm.
Please come by and join us if you’d like to play. I know it’s busy during the holidays, but try to join in. We hope to have a number of tables playing.
SUNSHINE NEWSHate to remind everyone but it is December,
crunch time for those cards and gifts we seem to put off to the last minute or is it just me! If the shoe fits better get busy. Where has this year gone??????.
Now down to business: not much went on this month although I have heard the ambulance in the park a few times but the only ones I have heard about are Donna Daughtry @274 and Lenore Steele #269. Get Well cards were sent out to both. Hope they are their old selves again. (old as in the saying, not the ladies).
Now it has come to my attention that both Gil and Doris Small have passed in the last few months. They were long time residents of the park and moved back north to be with family. As I said they were long time residents and very active residents. Our sympathy to their family, and just recently Lois Pfeiffer #281 has gone to Arizona to be with family.
Here is some good news, Our congratulations to Darlene (Sutton) and Bob Galloway upon their recent marriage. Darlene is a long time resident and lost her husband awhile back, so to you Darlene and Bob our Congratulations and may you enjoy your new life together.
How is that, for a short list I have rambled on enough, enjoy the holidays and stay safe and a Merry Christmas to all. Gail Hunter 752-6872
MANY THANKS FROM LENORE
I would like to thank my sister and brother-in-law for getting me to the E.R. in time and for taking care of LilBit while I was hospitalized. I also need to thank my granddaughter and nephew for their assistance the day I came home.
Thanks to all of the neighbors for expressing concern and offering help. Last, but not least, thanks to Sonya and Mike for all the delicious food.
I am very fortunate to have a great family nearby and to live in a caring community.
Lenore Steele
SHUFFLE BOARDIn addition to the regular Monday thru Friday 9 am
practice and the Saturday 1 pm practice, there is now an ongoing Shuffle League on Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00 pm. See Larry Halouska for details.
COFFEE & DONUTSThis is fun and it’s free for our residents – every
1st and 3rd Saturday at 9 am – just sign up in the clubhouse hallway so we know how many donuts to purchase!
On November 7th the hosts were Diana and Victor Zech. We had 27 people in attendance – a nice group. Hope to have more soon as our travelers arrive. The 50-50 ticket draw was won by Victor and Diana Zech. See you there next time. Remember – just sign up!
Diana Zech, host.
THANKS TO MARY TENNANTIn the true spirit of volunteering, Mary takes the
initiative and the time and energy to make sure our veterans are remembered every November. When you see an American flag on a lawn in our park, remember to say thanks to the veteran or their family who live there --- and thanks to Mary and Dave for placing the flag each year. Our veterans are also remembered on the wall inside the clubhouse with a terrific display. Take some time to look it over if you haven’t seen it yet.

RUSTY ZIPPERSMEN’S BREAKFAST CLUB
November 20, 2015. Twelve men met at Fiona’s for breakfast and casual conversation. Glad to see the guys again, to start back the winter season. Saw a couple new faces… hope to see more next month. Sign-up sheet in the Clubhouse hallway for Dec. 18, 2015. Thanks, Lloyd Ecker
THANKS AT THANKSGIVING
123 people gathered for a delicious and bountiful Thanksgiving meal on November 19th for our November Pot Luck. Dale Regnier and LaVirda Douglas and others worked all day preparing wonderful, moist turkey, stuffing and gravy – and more. (Thanks LaVirda for donating a turkey from your fridge so our extra attendees could enjoy the meal.)
The side dishes and desserts were spectacular and delicious.
The HOA folks hosted this event and worked on the preparation…thanks! Thanks to everyone who helped get the clubhouse ready, and many thanks to those who also stayed after the event to assist with the clean-up.
MAILBOX KEYS – A WORD TO THE WISE
I would like to bring to everyone’s attention that if you lose your mailbox key there is NO replacement key available. The only option is to replace the entire lock in the mailbox, which will require you to pay $20.00 for the replacement lock.
This increase in the cost of a new lock is due to the manufacturer’s increase.
I strongly suggest that all residents check to see how many keys they have on hand so if they do not have at least 2 keys they should have another key made up. If you have any question regarding this matter, do not hesitate to call me @ 752-6872. Thank you, Jack Hunter
DECEMBER POT LUCKNEW YEAR’S FESTIVITIES
If you have any ideas for holiday meals or festivities, LaVirda asks that you please contact her to make arrangements. There is nothing scheduled at this time.
A BRIEF WORD ON WATER CONSERVATION
Do you have a showerhead that is efficient? If you bring Larry Halouska an old inefficient showerhead, he will supply you with a new one that conserves water – till the supply of showerheads runs out.
Have you checked the flapper mechanism on your toilet? If it is worn out and water is leaking, get a new one from Larry. He also has a supply of the little blue pellets to drop into your toilet tank – to measure if water is leaking. The community loses a lot of water from leaking, inefficient toilets.
A resident asked “Why should I care if water is leaking, the bill is paid by management”. “I’d like to leave the water running so they have more to pay.” Actually, the amount of water that is used by our park this year, will determine how much the residents pay for that part of their rent next year. You only hurt your neighbors by wasting water.
Conserving water will also help your children, grandchildren, etc. We don’t feel the pinch now, but their future will be different than ours. Thanks for helping.
