Tie Dye Tutorial Supplies Needed:

a. 1 Tie Dye Kit (typically it will include dye, rubber bands, plastic gloves and instructions)

b. A White T-Shirt (or any item you would like to tie dye-it works best with white fabric)

c. A tarp, plastic bag or blanket to protect your work surface from getting dye on it

1. Begin by picking the desired colors for your shirt.

2. Then after picking the colors, put on those plastic gloves! Things are about to get messy!

3. After putting on the gloves, take your color bottles and fill them with water until the water reaches the

neck of the bottle like so:

4. After filling up the bottles, shake the bottle until the dye is dissolved.

5. Now take your shirt and lay it flat. Go to the middle of the shirt (or wherever you would like the spiral to

be) and begin twisting the shirt.

6. Continue to twist your shirt until it looks somewhat like a ball.

7. Now you are going to carefully take the shirt and put 3 rubber bands around it. This should create 6

different sections within the shirt.

8. Now take your color(s) you have selected and begin coloring each section.

9. Continue coloring each different section on your shirt until the shirt has little to no white at all.

10. Now you must wait at least 1 hour (for best results, let the dye sit for 6-8 hours) until you can rinse/ring

out your shirt into one of the buckets.

11. After 1 hour has passed, find a bucket with water and ring out your shirt as best you can.
