PRESIDENT’S WELCOMEWelcome to Lancefield Park, the home of the Tigers, for our Round 3 matches against Rockbank FNC today.

We invite life members, past players and coaches, 100 Club members and our valued sponsors to join us in the Clubrooms at half time and at the conclusion of the senior football match to join committee and players from the Rockbank Club.

Lancefield has a long tradition of dedicated volunteers at the Club and this was particularly evident at the Lancefield Swap Meet held in glorious sunshine on April 17. Gary and Pam Choate were assisted by an army of committee members, footballers, netballers, coaches, trainers, parents and supporters to make this a hugely successful event. Thank you one and all.

While it is fair to say that a large number of our Club’s volunteers have seen many a football season, it is most pleasing to see a band of younger boys and girls dedicating their time to help out. Junior Club players Alan Sinclair, Riley O’Meara, Jake O’Meara and Callum Sankey have been assisting with running for coaches and supplying water throughout practice matches and rounds played to date. Andrew Di Blasi has taken on any job asked of him and is now undertaking a trainers’ course and Ruby Sinclair continues to quietly lead by example whenever there is a job to do, as does Jazmin Wightman. Thank you everyone.

2016 marks the 50th anniversary of the Lancefield’s 1996 Premiership win and the 20th anniversary of the 1996 Premiership team. We look forward to celebrating this event with members of both winning sides, their families and the current playing group during the season. Date TBA
