    NETS QUICK HITS

If the Nets win it would Push the all-time franchise record in Game 7s to 1-1. This is the first home Game 7 in franchise history (5/20/04 at DET was the only other

Game 7). Chicago is 0-6 all-time in road Game 7s.

Make them just the ninth team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 series deficit to win the series. It would be the first time the Nets have

overcome a 3-1 series deficit to win a series. The Nets are the 21st

team to force a Game 7 in such a situation.

Mark the seventh time in NBA franchise history that the Nets have advanced to the second round of the postseason. The Nets have made it

past the first round in their last two playoff appearances (2006 and 2007).

    Be the 11th

postseason series win for the franchise.

Make the home team 5-1 in Game 7s played between four and five seeds in NBA history. It would also make the home team 103-28 in

    Game 7s overall.

Be the first postseason series victory for P.J. Carlesimo. Carlesimos three postseason wins this series are already a personal-best.

#HelloPlayoffNotesSTAYING ALIVE: Back-to-back Game 5 and Game 6 wins by the Nets have forced a deciding Game 7 in Brooklyn. Notes from the elimination-saving

The Nets gave up only 10 turnovers and allowed the Bulls to score just 10 points off those miscues.

    Game 5

the Nets have outrebounded and outscored the Bulls in second chance points (2-1 in those games).

The Nets outscored the Bulls 54 to 42 (+12) in points in the paint. It was the third game the Nets have outscored the Bulls in points in the

pain, with both wins coming when doing so.

Six Nets players scored in double-figures. It was the first postseason game that at least six Nets players have scored in double figures since

rewrote the Nets record books this season from beyond the arc, both

finishing in the top five in franchise history in three-point field goals

made. It also marked the first time in franchise history that a Nets duo hit

140+ triples in the same season.

NO LAUGHING MATTER: Reggie Joker Evans had one of the best rebounding seasons in NBA history in 2012-13, the evidence:

    Evans ranked 1st

in the NBA in rebounds per 48 minutes (21.7) and is also 1st

with a 26.7% total rebounding percentage.

His defensive rebounding percentage of 38.0% was the best mark in NBA history, ahead of Dennis Rodmans 1994-95 season (37.8%)

amongst players who played at least 15 minutes per game.

The ninth-year pro is on the verge of becoming the first player in NBA history outside of Rodman to have a total rebounding percentage of

at least 26% while playing a minimum of 15 minutes per game. Rodman achieved this feat three times.

Evans is also on pace to become the only player besides Rodman since the NBA-ABA merger to average at least 16 rebounds per 36

minutes while playing at least 15 minutes per game.

Reggie led the league with nine 20+ rebounding performances (Dwight Howard, Tyson Chandler and Nikola Vucevic are second with four

apiece) and of the 50 20+ outings this season, Evans accounted for 18% of them. Evans also accounted for a little over a third (seven of the

top 20) individual rebounding performances in the league this season.

BIG 3: The Nets went 4-0 this season when Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez each scored 20+ points in the same game. The trioachieved the feat 4/10 at BOS (Williams 29, Johnson 20, Lopez 21), 11/13 vs. CLE (Williams 26, Johnson 25, Lopez 23), 1/15 vs. TOR

    (Williams 21, Johnson 21, Lopez 22) and at Indiana 4/12 (Williams 33, Johnson 24, Lopez 24).

TURNING IT ON LATE: In his 28 games since the All Star Break, Deron Williams improved in almost every offensive statistical category. Eight of

Williams 30-point games this season came post-break, including hitting 30+ in four of his seven games in April. Below is a chart illustrating Derons

improvement after the break compared to his first 50 games of the season.

Brook Lopez: In his inaugural All-Star campaign, Lopez was the only player in the NBA averaging at least 19 points, seven rebounds and two

    blocks per game.

Lopez averaged a career-best blocks per game (2.1) and has also set a personal best for blocks in a season (154).

The fifth-year player rankedfifth in the NBA with a 24.8 player efficiency rating.

The All-Star ranks third in the league in field goals made per 48 minutes (12.1), eighth in the league in points per 48 minutes (30.6), ninth in

the league in blocks per 48 minutes (3.3) and ninth in the league in free throws per 48 minutes (6.3).

    Among centers, Lopez is 1st

in the NBA in scoring (19.4 ppg) and ranks 10th

overall in the league in points per game.

2013 PLAYOFF SERIES (SERIES TIED 3-3):

Game 6: Nets 95, Bulls 92 at United Center, 5/2/13

The Brooklyn Nets forced a Game 7 when they defeated the Chicago Bulls 95-92 in Game 6 of the best-of-seven first round series.

The Bulls were undermanned, playing without Luol Deng (illness) and Kirk Hinrich (calf). Nate Robinson and Taj Gibson were

also playing while under the weather; Gibson fouled out of the game in just 18 minutes while Robinson was able to play 42

effective minutes despite being noticeably ill. The first half featured more scoring than these two teams are accustomed to with the

Nets leading 60-54 after the first 24 minutes of play. The third quarter saw each team return to its more defensive-minded state with

the teams combing for just 32 points in the period. The Nets held a 4-point, 75-71 lead through three quarters. The Bulls foughtooth-and-nail the for the entire fourth quarter pulling within one point with 25.2 seconds to play, but they couldnt get over the

hump. Andray Blatche made two clutch free throws with 19.2 seconds remaining to give the Nets the lead at 95-92, the eventua

final score of the game. Blatche finished with 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Brook Lopez, Joe Johnson and Deron

Williams all scored 17 points for the Nets, with Williams totaling a game-high 11 assists. Gerald Wallace chipped in 15 points o

his own. As for the Bulls, Marco Belinelli, starting in place of the sick Luol Deng, led the team in scoring with 22 points on 8-21

shooting. Nate Robinson scored 18 points and Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer each turned in double-double performances.

Game 5: Nets 110, Bulls 91 at Barclays Center, 4/29/13After a disheartening loss on Saturday, the Brooklyn Nets bounced back to defeat the Chicago Bulls and push the series to a game

six in Chicago this Thursday. The Nets showed their determination to stay in the playoffs throughout the close game, ending each of

the first three quarters with fewer than a 10-point lead, but exploding in the fourth quarter to win the game 110-91. The first half of

the game consisted of all six lead changes, but the Nets stayed on top throughout the entire second half. In the fourth quarter, the

Nets pulled away, winning the quarter 33 to 18, shooting 55% from the field and holding the Bulls to 25% from three point range. In

the game, the Nets outrebounded the Bulls 44 to 33 and doubled the Bulls in second chance points, 24 to 12. The Nets had six

players score in double-digits. Of them two starters had double-doubles; Brook Lopez had a playoff career-high of 28 points with 10

rebounds and Deron Williams had his second consecutive double-double, tallying 23 points and 10 assists. For the Chicago Bulls,

Game 4: Nets 134, Bulls 142 at United Center, 4/27/13

The Brooklyn Nets were defeated by a resilient Chicago Bulls team and trail the series 3-1. A late shift in the momentum with four

minutes reaming in the fourth quarter provided the Chicago Bulls with an opportunity to force the game into overtime. The Chicago

Bulls late game charge can be attributed to Nate Robinsons unconscious performance late in the 4 th quarter. Robinson recorded 23

of his 34 points in the fourth quarter and shot an impressive 9-11 from the field. Kirk Hinrich also made significant contributions

down the stretch as he dished out 14 assists (four in the 4 th quarter) and scored 18 points. Despite the loss the Nets Big Three each

scored in double-digits and should be particularly excited about Brook Lopezs future based on his performances in this series.

Brook scored 26 points hauled in 11 rebounds and blocked four shots - one block in particular late in 2 nd OT that helped force the

game into a third and final overtime.

Game 3: Nets 76, Bulls 79 at United Center, 4/25/13The Brooklyn Nets got off to a hot start in their first road playoff game in six years, leading 17-5 in the early-going. They then

would not score for the final six-plus minutes of the first quarter as Chicago went on a 14-0 run to take a 19-17 lead after the first 12

minutes. After that, the Nets got colder from the field and finished shooting only34.6% , while trailing the Bulls by as many as 17

The Bulls did not shoot much better, however, finishing at 39.7% and they let the Nets back in the game in the fourth quarter by

putting up just 14 points of their own. The insertion of MarShon Brooks into the game in the fourth seemingly lifted the Nets

offense a little bit as the Nets out-scored the Bulls 24-14 in the final period, eventually cutting the lead to just three points. C.J

Watson missed the potential game-tying three-pointer as time expired and the Bulls were able to exhale. For the Nets, Brook Lopez

had a stellar game scoring a team-high 22 points, recording nine rebounds and seven blocked shots. Joe Johnson scored 15 points

while playing through injury and Deron Williams chipped in 18 of his own. Luol Deng scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds for

the Bulls limited Brooklyn to two field goals and 11 total points in the third period, a total that matched the franchise low for the

frame (done two other times). The Nets staged a comeback, but a Joe Johnson missed three-pointer that would have cut the lead to apoint with 3:45 remaining in the fourth quarter would be as close as the attempt would come. Brooklyn was ultimately unable to

overcome 35.4% shooting, including 4-21 from beyond the arc and 12 turnovers that led to 16 Chicago points. The Bulls also scored

D3RONS LUCKY NUMB3RS: Deron Williams 33 points and 14 assists at IND on 4/12 was only the third time this season a player recorded those

numbers (Lebron James and Jrue Holiday). The 33 points, 14 assists and five made three-pointers by Williams had only been done five times since

the 1985-86 season and Deron is the only player to have done it twice (he recorded 35 points, 14 assists and six made three-pointers at PHO on

1/13/12). The other players to have accomplished that feat are Baron Davis, Darrell Armstrong and Tim Hardaway.

    20/20 CLUB: Reggie Evans grabbed a career-high 26 rebounds (including a career-high 12 offensive) and tied a career-high with 22 points at POR

    on 3/27.

Evans was the only player in the NBA this season to record at least 22 points and 26 rebounds in a game and was the 16th such player in

the NBA since 1985-86 to accomplish that task. Charles Shacklefords 23 point and 26 rebound performance on 2/20/90 was the only other

such outing by a Net since the 1985-86 season.

Evans 26 rebounds tied the Nets franchise record for rebounds in regulation.

It was the first 20/20 game by a Net since Richard Jeffersons 26 points and 21 rebounds at CHI on 11/5/04.

2013 HEAD-2-HEAD: Notes on Brooklyns successin head-to-head series this season

The Nets won the season series with nine of the 14 teams in the Eastern Conference. The Nets only lost the season series to two East

    teams this year (three splits).

Brooklyn swept 10 opponents this season.

DERON BREAKING RECORDS: Notes on Deron Williams record-setting performance against Washington on 3/8/13:

Williams nine three-pointers in the first half was the most in NBA history by a player in a half.

His 11 total three-pointers set a Nets franchise record for three-point field goals made in a single game.

Derons seven three pointers in the first quarter set a Nets franchise record for most three-pointers made in any quarter.

The 42 points was his season-high and a Nets individual player high this year. The 23 points in the first quarter was the most by a Net in

    any quarter this season.

Williams 33 points in the first-half was also the most points in a half by a Nets player this season. His 33 points was also the exact amount

of points the entire Wizards team scored in the first-half. The last player to score the same amount or more points than their opponents

entire team in the first-half of a game was Tracy McGrady of the Orlando Magic when he scored 37 points vs. Denver on 3/9/03.

SELLING OUT: The Nets sold out Barclays Center (17,732 capacity) 22 times in the buildings inaugural season.

FINE FROM THE LINE Deron Williams made 52 consecutive free throws between 12/31/12 and 1/21/13, the second-longest streak of the season (J.

Crawford, LAC 58) and the second-longest streak in Nets history in the play-by-play era (Sam Cassell 55 in 1998).

HOUSTON-WE HAVE AN ALL-STARNotes on Brook Lopezs first-ever All-Star selection:

    Brook became the 13th

All-Star in Nets franchise history, joining Buck Williams (three times), Otis Birdsong, M.R. Richardson,

Derrick Coleman, Kenny Anderson, Jayson Williams, Stephon Marbury, Jason Kidd (five times), Kenyon Martin, Vince Carter

(three times), Devin Harris and Deron Williams.

Lopez was the second Nets center (Jayson Williams) to be selected.

In his ASG debut, Lopez scored three points with five rebounds and three assists in 11 minutes of action as the East fell to the

West 143-138. In the Saturday Sears Shooting Stars competition, Brooks team (which consisted of NBA Legend Muggsy

Bogues and WNBA star Tamika Catchings) came in fourth out of the four teams finishing the first round of the challenge in 67

    seconds.

This was the third time Lopez has participated in All-Star weekend after being selected as both a rookie and a sophomore to

the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge in 2008-09 and 2009-10.

REBOUNDIN REGGIE: Notes on Reggies franchise rebounding achievements from 2012-13:

Evans became the first Net in the play-by-play era to record a double-double in the first quarter when he notched 10 points and 10 rebounds

    4/9 vs. PHI.

Reggie became the third Net in franchise history to record consecutive 20+ rebound outings after registering 24 against the Bobcats on 4/6

and 24 on 4/9 vs. PHI (Buck Williams Jan. 1984 and Jayson Williams, twice Dec. 1997).

Reggies eight consecutive games of 13+ rebounds between 3/27 and 4/10 was the longest such stretch in Nets history.

5,000 ASSIST CLUB - Deron Williams dished his 5,000th career assist 2/6 at DET in his 554th

    career game, becoming

The ninth-fastest player in NBA history to record 5,000 assists. Only Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, John Stockton, Isiah Thomas, Chris

Paul, Kevin Johnson, Jason Kidd and Tim Hardaway achieved the feat on fewer games.

The third-fastest active player to reach the milestone (Chris Paul, 510 games and Jason Kidd, 531 games).

The 56th player in NBA history to reach that plateau, finishing the season 50th on the NBAs career list and ninth among active players.

THREE-FOR-ALL: The Nets set a season-high (since tied) with 16 made three-pointers1/26 at HOU, a game in which the Nets also tied a franchise

record by attempting 36 shots from beyond the arc. The Nets had previously attempted 36 threes in regulation twice: at PHI 4/18/06 and 4/13/07 and

once in overtime, 4/7/07 vs. WAS.

ANDRAY AT THE 5: In his eight games as a starter this season, Andray Blatche averaged 17.9 points and 9.3 rebounds while shooting 52.3% from

    the field.

HISTORIC PERFORMANCES: Some of the Nets best individual performances of the season: Reggie Evans 1/8 at PHI: Recorded 23 rebounds in 27 minutes. Only one other players since the 1985-86 season has recorded more

rebounds in 27 minutes or less of action (Lorenzen Wright of the Clippers vs. SAC on 3/11/99 - 29 rebounds in 27 minutes).

Brook Lopez 12/29 vs. CLE: 35 points and 11 rebounds. The output was Lopezs seventh career 35+ point game, making him the ONLY

Nets center since the 1995-96 season to reach that plateau.

Andray Blatche 11/18 at SAC: made his first 10 field goal attempts. The Last NBA player to make 10 or more consecutive field goals

prior to Blatche was the Lakers Andrew Bynum (12, 3/18/10 vs. Utah). The last Nets player to accomplish the feat was Brook Lopez

    (10, 3/26/10 vs. Detroit).

o 12/7 vs. GSW: 22 points, 15 rebounds and four steals. Blatche became the first player in the league this season to have at least

HISTORY IN ORLANDO - NOTES FROM THE NETS PERFORMANCE IN ORLANDO 11/9:

After losing by 30 points to Heat in Miami 73-103 on 11/7, the Nets bounced back to beat the Magic in Orlando by 39 points (107-68) the

following game 11/9. It was the first time in the NBA since the Thunder at the end of the 2008-09 season that a team lost by 30+ points and

won their ensuing game by at least that same margin (OKC lost 83-113 to POR 4/13/09 and won 126-85 over LAC on 4/15/09).

The 39-point margin was the largest on the road by the Nets in their NBA history, besting the previous mark of 34 at Philadelphia 1/15/86.

The last time the Nets had won by 39+ points was 2/7/09 vs. Denver, 114 to 70.

It was the largest victory over the Magic in franchise history, surpassing a 129-91 (38 point) defeat of Orlando on 3/12/00 at home.

Tied a franchise record for fewest opponent free throws made with four (at WAS 04/06/99, vs. DEN 11/18/02, and at TOR 4/14/02).

It was the first time the Nets held an opponent to 68 points or fewer since 4/5/09 vs. PHI (a 97-67 win).

Holding the Magic to 68 points was tied for the 6th

    fewest allowed in franchise history.

The win snapped a 15-game losing streak in the state of Florida (seven to the Miami Heat and eight to the Orlando Magic). It also was the

first win over the Magic since 4/11/09 (10 games) and the first win in Orlando since 1/2/08 (eight games).

NOT SO FAST: The Nets defeated the Clippers 11/23 while scoring zero fast break points, the first time in at least the last 15 years that the franchise

has won without scoring a single fast break point.

ANOTHER (COMMUNITY) ASSIST: Nets guard Deron Williams was named the NBAs Kia Community Award recipient for the month of November in

recognition of his outstanding efforts in the community and ongoing philanthropic and charitable work.

NEW CREW: In the first four games of the season, nine Nets were newly-minted (the season-opening roster featured just five players who ended lastyear with the team).Four Nets made their franchise debuts 11/3 vs. TOR: starting shooting guard Joe Johnson, backup point guard C.J. Watson andreserve big men Andray Blatche and Reggie Evans. Rookies Tyshawn Taylor and Mirza Teletovic made their team and NBA debuts 11/5 vs. MIN,followed by fellow rookie Tornike Toko Shengelia 11/7 at MIA. Josh Childress and Jerry Stackhouse made their official entries into the Nets historybooks in the first quarter 11/9 at ORL.

BROOKLYN BACKCOURT: Notes on the talented pairing of backcourt mates Joe Johnson and Deron Williams:

    - 9 combined All-Star appearances (Johnson - 6 between 2007-12/Williams 3 between 2010-12)

    - 3 combined All-NBA selections (Williams Second Team in 2008/2010 and Johnson - Third Team 2010)

    - 2 NBA All-Rookie Team selections (Williams First Team in 2006/Johnson - Second Team in 2002)

    INTERIM HEAD COACH P.J. CARLESIMO

P.J. Carlesimo brings over 35 years of coaching experience to the Nets as he takes over as Interim Head Coach, his fourth career head coaching position in the NBA.

Carlesimo, who served as an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors in 2010-11, spent five seasons (2002-2007)as Gregg Popovichs lead assistant with the San Antonio Spurs, where they captured three NBA titles in 2003, 2005and 2007. He also served as the head coach in Portland (1994-97), Golden State (1997-2000) andSeattle/Oklahoma City (2007-09).

Carlesimo began his coaching career as an assistant at Fordham University in 1971, before being named headcoach at New Hampshire College for one season (1975-76). He then spent six seasons(1976-82) as the headcoach at Wagner College, and led the Seahawks to their first NIT appearance. In 1982, Carlesimo was named headcoach at Seton Hall University, a position he held for 12 years. In 1987-88, he guided Seton Hall into the NCAA

Tournament for the first time in school history. His teams qualified for the NCAA Tournament in six of his final seven years. He was named NCAACoach of the Year in 1989 after registering a 31-7 mark, and advancing to the NCAA Championship Game. In addition, he was named Big EastCoach of the Year in 1988 and 1989.

Carlesimo made the transition to the NBA in the summer of 1994, when he was named head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers. He compiled a 137109 (.557) record over three seasons and led the Blazers to three straight playoff appearances. Posting a winning season in his first year in the NBAcoming from the collegiate ranks made him the first coach to accomplish that feat in 25 years. His 1996-97 team posted the lowest field goapercentage allowed (.436) in team history to that point, and recorded an 11- game winning streak (third longest in Blazers history). Each oCarlesimos three Portland squads finished in the top three in league rebounding totals. All three teams held opponents scoring totals to under 100points, with each season lower than the previous year. The 1994-95 Blazers allowed 99.2 points, followed by 97.0 points and a then Blazers- record94.8 points in 1996-97.

In June of 1997, Carlesimo was hired as the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, a position he held until December of 1999. The Warriors ledthe league in rebounding each of his first two seasons in Golden State. In addition, the 1998-99 Warriors set franchise records in field goal percentagedefense (.420) and lowest points allowed (90.8).

Carlesimo served as an assistant coach for USA Basketball for the gold-medal winning team at the 1992 Olympic Games, the 1990 WorldChampionships, the 1990 Goodwill Games and the 1988 Olympic Trials. In addition, Carlesimo was the head coach of three other U.S. Teams, including the 1991 World University Games squad, winners of the gold medal, and at the Olympic Festival in Norman and Oklahoma City in 1989.

Between coaching stints, Carlesimo has been a broadcaster for NBC Sports, Turner Sports and Spurs Television, and was recently the lead analystfor Westwood One on their broadcast of the 2012 Mens Olympic Basketball competition from London.

A native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Carlesimo graduated from Fordham University in 1971. He was a member of the schools 26-3 basketball team in1970-71, a team that set the mark for the most wins in school history and was Fordhams first NCAA Tournament team.

Carlesimo has been inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame (1992 USAB Dream Team), Pennsylvania Hall of Fame, the Wagner Hall of Fame andthe Seton Hall Athletic Hall of Fame. His father, the late Pete Carlesimo, was the long-time executive director of the NIT.

PJ and his wife, Carolyn, have two sons, Kyle and Casey.
