Our sponsors and guests enjoyed a lovely evening of delicious food, great buying opportunities and dancing. The Foundation raised $213,000, all for a great cause; which includes the results of our Passion Piece which raised $100,000 to directly benefit

the expansion and improvement of Anderson’s Cardiac Cath Lab, Gift for the

    Heart Campaign.

    FYI

As of November 17th, a Level II Visitor restriction was inacted. Over 38% of the flu swabs collected were positive for flu. “This means we have to heighten our awareness of the flu, set up

our hand hygiene and cough etiquette, and ask visitors not to visit if they are not feeling well,” said Doris Driscoll, Infection

    Control Nurse.

  • While Ebola may no longer be front page news, Anderson Hospital continues its constant state of readiness. For several weeks now, a special Leadership Team has met daily, meeting, reviewing and discussing the information, protocols, guidelines, and education the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has made available for hospitals. The Madison County Health Department and the Illinois Department of Public Health are additional entities that we partnered with for information sharing. Already put into place: All patients are screened at the points of entry

for early identification and protection Designated patient isolation rooms are

established at each entry Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is

available for patients and staff Posted notices to the public regarding symptoms

and travel awareness at entrances and on the monitor screens

Conducted a table top (practice) for plan development

Provided education to staff, medical staff offices, EMS, and schools

Most recently, a special response team was

created. The team is made up of caregivers to respond and care for any potential/actual Ebola patients. This special response team has been educated, trained, and drilled on the appropriate donning and doffing of PPE and appropriate care and protection of a patient and staff. The response team recently drilled their readiness with the Maryville EMS department.
