Title Analysis

‘Now you see me’ opening sequence analysis of titles.

The production company ‘Summit Entertainment’ is the first thing to stand out to the audience which is text. The production company logo being used so that the audience would continue to recognise this logo in future films. Now making the look of the mountains a staple image to summit entertainment which would mean that when someone in the audience would remember this production company when seeing this symbol.

Once again the first thing shown is another production company, with the text fading slowly would make the audience remember it. This production company have used their own font, this is effective as now whenever a member of the audience would find this font anywhere they would think back to when they saw it on this film.

In these two titling shots the production companies that were shown before are repeated and shown again, though this time they are over the top of the action happening of the film starting. This could distract the audience from the title but the title still being there the audience will read it further putting the production company into their memory. The two shots now are the same font rather than two different ones, this makes them blend more into the film and the action happening behind them.

There are no other titling credits now in any of the opening sequence, there is actually no sign of any type of text where ever until around twelve minutes in where this title shot is shown. This titling shot is on its own, surrounded by a black background to make it stand out and contrast itself from the scenes previously. Having no other titling credits such as the director, the producer shown in the opening sequence would give the opening sequence a sense of realism drawing the audience straight into the action.
