EVERY INDIVIDUAL has their own story. Every person has their own issues, their own experiences, their own ideals. No story is the same. Throughout my life, my hopes for col-lege have skyrocketed and fallen to the ground faster than a rollercoaster. In middle school my friends were going on field trips to all these local colleges in Los Angeles. They just went to skip school, but I wanted to go to see the schools I dreamt of one day going to. I was so excited to join these programs, but then came the first fall of the roller coaster. I was told I couldnt join because I wasnt born in the country. Thats when it reality hit me. They engraved in my head the idea of me not being able to go to col-lege because I wasnt a citizen, so thats when my whole concept of school changed.

Because of this, I moved on and accepted the fact college wasnt for me. I told myself, Why try so hard in school if I cant go to college? Why try if in the end it wont count for anything but a high school diploma? I gave up on many things. My grades started falling, I stopped trying so hard and eventually started failing classes. It may not sound like much, but I believed my teachers when they said I was going to be nothing but a bum on the streets of LA. Then everything changed. I enrolled in OFL. I moved away from bad influences and the bad support I had in school. My mindset around college was still gone, but I was moving in the right direction.

Then I met a girl. A girl whose dreams motivated me to chase after my old ones. Shes the reason I became interested in college all over again. Then as soon as I decided on trying to get into college I got the news that a college tour to NorCal was coming up. One of the colleges we would be visiting was the University of San Francisco. I have always wanted to move to San Francisco. Attending the University of San Francisco was my top choice. I took this opportunity, and it sure motivated me to get to where I wanted to get to regardless of everyone who put me down. On this tour I met great students with their own stories to tell and their own problems to face. Some of them even understood what I was going through. We were on our way to a tour that would change everything for me.

We arrived at the University of San Francisco on a Monday morning. This private institution is a Jesuit school meaning it is a Roman Catholic school. You didnt have to be a Catholic to go to this school, you just had to take a few classes in some sort of belief. The architecture of this school was impressive! From its buildings, to the amazing sights the school held with classrooms high upon a hill overlooking the city. After visiting this school I was more than determined to make it in.

We visited four other colleges over the next few days. Every single one of them had their own unique characteristics that set them apart.

We went to UC Davis which has over 55 miles of bike trails in the school alone! We also attended Sacramento State which had an incredible fitness program. It also had an engineering racing division in which students joined the Formula SAE International Competition. We also went to Sonoma State University. Its a small campus that gives every student a family type of connection. We were lucky enough to meet a student that went to OFL and now attends Sonoma State. The last school we went to was UC Berkeley, which also had some really incredible architecture. It had actual fossils of ancient creatures that no longer roam among us. Every school left its own impression, and although there are hundreds of schools out there, these are definitely some to keep in mind when choosing what college youll want to go to.

Id like to thank OFL for the opportunity of going on this college trip. It definitely gave me the last push I needed to make sure I attend a university. Id also like to thank the staff at OFL for being so encouraging and helpful on having us students have a successful future. Que Bol, Cuba?OFL visits Cuba, paving the way for President Barack ObamaBy Chris Carrillo Photos by Rosa Padilla and Pathways

MY EXPERIENCE as an OFL student going to Cuba was pretty amazing. I was honestly surprised by the landscapes and all its beauty. I was just lost in countryside of Cuba known as Viales due to its amazing landscapes. I cant explain what it was but I grew so attached to Viales the most throughout the trip, maybe because the place wasnt filled with the loud city, the large amounts of people, and instead I had time to appreciate the views of the place of peace of mind. When we were out I was quiet because I wanted to take in something I dont get to experience everyday. Something I wasnt used to but what I found relaxing was that there was actually peace and quiet which made my mind at rest. I dont really sleep during the day, but it was so calm and

peaceful that I know that for a fact I can fall asleep on the great plains of Cuba with the sun hitting my face.

The whole time I was there I felt no stress, I felt the world stood still, quiet to be exact; I couldnt think about anything. I felt my mind was finally at rest. For someone who is stress-ing out about school on a constant day-to-day basis (mainly math because of my credit situ-ation). Thanks to this great opportunity, I was actually happy to the fullest, pushing myself to have the best day ever.

We also spent time in Havana, where we visited the Plaza de la Revolucin and University of Havana.

Rosa Padilla (Chatsworth) commented on the lifestyle of people living in poverty in Havana: They dont see it like theyre poor.

Of Cows and MenAn 11-day stay on a Northern California farmBy Spencer Belkin

WHEN I heard about Blackbird farm I thought, Oh hey, a farm! Amazing! The trip seemed like I would go to a farm, par-ticipate in farm related activities, maybe see some cows, gather some eggs, and thats it. Just normal farm chores. I wanted to go, just for the sake of being away from home, and being on a farm. Afterall, it was free. I submitted my application and was ready to go.

After we got off the plane and drove to the farm, a cow ran in front of our van while we were parking and I turned to my friend and said, Yep, this will be the next 11 days. That night we ate dinner and met all the RAs attending the trip. After a couple days of normal farm activities such as picking weeds, feeding the chickens, and milking the cow, they had us do some activities involving team building, such as a blindfolded maze at night in a forest, trusting people you just met to guide you through said maze, or you had to work with others in order to reach your goals. It was quite fun because we all had to stay in this tiny circle and help each other stretch out and grab a piece of paper with our goal on it. One day we had to do team building games involving critical thinking and teamwork.

We also learned about ways to garden and ways to maintain a garden. In fact, after I came home from Blackbird, I made a gift

for my mother by making a garden. All her previous gardens died or failed so I took the knowledge I had achieved from Blackbird and created a garden that, since I came back from Blackbird, has thrived and now is doing better than ever.

A great thing was that we made our own foods on a couple occasions while at the farm. We made pizza one night for dinner from scratch and it was amazing. We rolled out the dough, put on toppings, and cooked it in a brick wood burning oven.

One of the days we went to a course involving heights and trusting people you dont trust on those heights. At a certain section was a tightrope that you had to cross with a partner. It was really fun and definitely created bonds between us. Another was a zipline that was really fun to go down.

My absolute favorite part is that they have cats on the farm to get rid of pests that might harm the ecosystem of the farm and I loved them all at first sight. I made it my ultimate goal to pet all five of them and the best part was I went above and beyond that to the point where one of the cats formed a bond with me. He came to me when I called him over and on the last day, when it was raining and we were doing morning chores, he came under the tree I was under and I picked him up and carried him all the way

to the farmhouse where he could take shelter on the porch.

The entire trip was well worth the $0 and I would go back if given the chance in a heartbeat. I made more than enough friends on the trip and it was not at all what I expected it to be. During the time I was never bored or sad. We never had a

moment of opening where we did nothing, we always had something to do. From cleaning the horses, to playing games with the staff like ultimate frisbee and the stick dance, to riding a train to see the amazing redwoods. It was an exciting time and I loved every moment of it and, if asked, I would recommend this trip to anyone.

    Goodnight, Havana

Theyre used to it. Its their life. They grew up there. [...] I came back and I thought, Were so greedy, the way we live.

Thanks to the facilitators, the principal, the assistant principals (Ms. Jackie youre an awesome chaperone!), my teachers, and those who support the Pathways trips. I really want to thank them for all the trouble and decisions that they make to make these trips possible.

Rosa says, I felt like it was the most important life experience Ive ever had because I was alone with strangers. And then we all came together; it was just magical. Everyone bonded with each other.

Without a doubt in my mind, thanks to OFL and Pathways, I will return to Cuba and no one will tell me what I cant do. Plaza de la Revolucin in Havana

A cow ran in front of our van ... and I turned to my friend and said, Yep, this will be the next 11 days.

OFL NEWSA Magical EveningA quick look at Prom 2016By Cynthia Cuevas

PROM: THE most magical evening of a teens four-year jour-ney. The dress, the tux, the hair, the date, the after party and the sleepovers. Prom is the one night anyone can feel like a prince or princess. The anticipation of counting down to prom is almost as exciting as counting down graduation. I was shopping for the perfect dress two months before to get an idea of what I wanted.

The day of prom is crazy; anyone getting ready for prom took hours to get ready. Meeting up at school, everyones parents taking pictures of everyone with dresses and tuxedos.

Once we got to Marina Del Rey it was beautiful with all the lights, and the water was a bonus as it surrounded the yacht as it went around the marina the whole night.

The music was great, and the DJ got everyone dancing. Through the whole night, no one was sitting down. Everyone was doing something: dancing, taking pictures, karaoke, or just standing outside watching the water. It was a magical night to remember.

SIGNING DAY: a day where teachers, staff, and parents enjoy the accomplishments of the seniors and their acceptance to a four-year university. It was an emotional day for the parents as well as the students. There was a group of students who I fortunately was a part of called Rising Stars. We were chosen because of our hard work and our commitment to our future.

We all got to enjoy dinner at the Odyssey Restaurant. We had the choice of chicken, beef, or a vegetarian dish. The tables were set up beautifully and the centerpieces, vases with flowers and the name of a university, were very nice. I chose to eat beef and it was pretty good although I was the last one in the room to receive my meal, but at least I had time to finish the salad. After dinner we ate dessert which was cheesecake or a piece of chocolate cake, both served with a scoop of ice cream.

We had a surprise speech from Wendy Spencer, a nice lady and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation for National and Community Service who was sent from the president and told us how important

it is to volunteer and how volunteering can increase our chance of getting a job by twenty-two percent.

After her speech it was the seniors turn to go on the stage. Many were so nervous that their voices shook. Almost all got emotional and cried on stage and many said that they never would have imagined themselves going to college but with the love and support of the teachers and staff they took a second look on attending college, got accepted and are starting their new chapter in life. I remember one student, although not having his family there thanked them and teared up before thanking everyone for being there to witness his signing. The last senior who was on stage (Marco Alcaraz) said, Opportunities for Learning was not only my second family, second home, but my second chance.

That emotional night ended with a toast to the parents of the graduating students, tears, and lots of photos. I look forward to the day when my graduating class and I go up on that stage and announce the university we will be attending.

In Our CourtRecapping the OFL basketball and volleyball seasonsBy Aydin Aguilera and Logan Bond

ATHLETICS AT Opportunities for Learn-ing have grown more intense and respected since its humble beginnings. During the spring, two teams from all the Opportuni-ties in the San Fernando Valley emerge: Boys basketball and Girls volleyball. Those two teams played with immense heart and rose as champions to us all no matter what. Both teams finished with 2-3 records and will be competing in the playoffs on May 20.

Volleyball player Demi Foster (Chatsworth) who won the most improved player of the year award last year, spoke about the volleyball teams growth: Last year the girls volleyball team only had 6 girls and you need 6 players to play and it became tiring and stressful because we didnt have subs and now we have 12 players so its less stressful and less tiring. We also have better communication.

When you go to a game, you can see that communication in the way the team covers the court, and you can hear that communication, especially with Bridget Mota (Encino) who is constantly encouraging the girls to get pumped up and active, yelling we want another one

just like the other one whether she was on the court or on the bench. The team looks focused and alert and ready to jump!

I spoke to the coaches and players about what it means to be a Bobcat. Coach Drew Adams said its about dedication, turning in your units, and being a team player for sure; being able to work well with others, and cheering each other on when youre off the court as well. The coachs mindset clearly was passed onto his players. Brian Sanders (Arleta) said, The commitment plays a big part of being a Bobcat, being willing to go out there and play with everyone else and sharing the ball with the team. Malik Taylor (Reseda) said, responsibility, leadership, integrity, and showing respect to other players is what makes a Bobcat.

Overall the sports programs at OFL, no matter what season, gives boys and girls a sense of leadership, confidence, and the drive to improve themselves. It was an honor to hear some feedback from actual team members about their experience, and it is great that it was a success this season.

    Alumni Interviews By Damian Contreras

Interview with Raul Cherlin (Class of 2015)Damian: May I ask, what was your reason for coming to OFL?Raul: My reason... Well mainly, I never got good grades. [First] I came from

Palmdale, and I was attending basically the same thing over there, like an OFL over there, and then I had to transfer over here, and I needed a lot of credits to catch up, so I couldnt attend regular high school anymore so I attended OFL.

D: What was your first impression of OFL when you started?R: It was really great. At first, it was a lot different with the whole turning

in packets and everything. I thought it was a little difficult at first, just doing everything by yourself, not having actual teachers with you. I eventually got used to it because I got attached to the people there; it was a really good environment.

D: How did OFL compare to other schools you attended?R: Its a lot calmer, the environment itself is a lot better. You do your units

and know a lot of people there. You see them every day, every appointment that you have there. Compared to public schools, theres no real violence at all or anything. Its a calm and collected environment, full of nice people that are there to help you.

D: Did you enjoy your time at OFL?R: Yeah, I really did. I took my time with the packets, not trying to rush

anything. I met a lot of people that I really enjoyed, that I could call my friends. D: What have you been up to since you graduated from OFL?R: Right now, I am attending Pierce College. Im in my second semester.D: How did OFL help prepare you for college or your career?R: In a way yeah, because its really similar to how college is now, especially

with doing the work by yourself. Its really similar. [...] I can say it did help me a lot.

STUDENT VOICES Interview with Michael Gousarov (Class of 2015)Damian: May I ask, what was your reason for coming to OFL?Michael: May I ask? D: Yeah. May I ask?M: Just go for it!D: Okay. What was your reason for coming to OFL?M: I wanted to transfer from my old school, because I was getting all Fs in my classes

and I didnt even know why. Looking back at it [...] I think I can see how this transition [to OFL] helped me get my inner childness shaped in a way so that Im more in charge of my own life rather than simply following regular school. In regular school, you kind of just go period to period, you get breaks, and here its more, Well, okay. I have to go to class, got to fill out your [work], take care of all your stuff, and its more compact. Its more to yourself. And now looking back at it, I see how that helped me achieve the state Im in now in which I can be more responsible for my own future.

D: What was your first impression of OFL?M: When I first came here, I think I was a little anxious because I didnt know what

to expect. And when I met my teachers, thats when everything became very challenging because I knew I had be accountable to them, because theyre so accountable to me. Because if they care about me so much, I feel like, where is my care for myself? So that helped me grasp onto my own roots and actualize my own life.

D: How is OFL compared to other schools youve been to?M: Theres a more downright determination [...] as compared to regular school. Its

more serious.D: Did it help prepare you for college?M: Yeah, definitely, because the major reason that it prepared me was because it gave me

that vision that I am enough for myself, where in regular school I always felt like, Youre not enough. Theres something wrong with you. But here, it was like, No. If I put my work in it I will achieve success.

D: What are you up to today?M: Im working on finishing my college courses. Now Im waiting for Carrington

College, just working and stuff. Carrington College is a medical college, and they also offer different kinds of courses, like criminology courses.

D: Any advice for OFL students?M: Just know who you care for, and that should be the person in the mirror. Which is you,

right? But then, if you think about, everyone is your mirror, and everything around you is your mirror. So if you love everything in the reflection, then you have achieved happiness.

  • Issue #8 TO THE POINT 5

THE LONG-AWAITED movie Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice by DC that came out on March 25, 2016 was created to be the base for future DC movies. Sean OConnell, a nationally recognized film critic said, And finally, Dawn of Justiceas that subtitle implieslays the groundwork for future DC Comics movies by sprinkling in recognizable references to members of the Justice League. This movie is the foundation from which other DC movies will based. Everyone believes that the movie Superman was the base for the DC universe but in Batman vs Superman you see more of Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman all on the same screen together.

Although this movie is technically the base for future DC movies, this doesnt mean that the movie was great; if you were to compare this movie to the Dark Knight youd be greatly disappointed. The intensity of the movie was very disappointing in some parts and in others the movie was mildly intense.

If you were looking for something thats nerve-racking there is only one thing I can say like Dave Skylark says, Haters gonna hate and ainters gonna aint. If youre a hater you gonna hate if youre an ainter you gonna aint the movie.

The movie overall didnt give off the vibe it should have gave. I was hoping for awesomeness and received an awkward welcome. For any awesomeness lovers, this movie may or may not be good for you based on your awesomeness scale.

But there was some awesomeness in scenes that satisfied my hunger for awesomeness. Batman is portrayed as a bad-CENSORED. Lets just say hes a bad-butt, in a good way. Superman was portrayed as god-like or demon-like by the public. This is where the plot grows and shows the tensions between Batman and Superman growing after the destruction of Metropolis which was actually pretty good; however, there were

Batman vs Superman: Dawn of JusticeA professional reviewBy Japhet Mondragon

times when the plot made you think like Chicken Little saying stuff like, What were we talking about? getting you confused and made you believe that the sky is [indeed] falling because of the failure of a movie. This was particularly why I didnt really like it as much as I wanted to because of the constant confusion. There was just too much going on in the movie it was crazy. There was a trial for whether or not they need Superman and there really wasnt any need for the trial against Superman because the people would have already made the decision.

Overall, the movie was more of a Batman movie than a Superman movie. Adding Doomsday and the big three fighting (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman) against him was really unnecessary because you already have so many things in one movie and now youre trying to cram this inside it too. They should have waited, because a movie is only so long and you can only fit so much, but they wanted to fit everything inside it when they could have made a part one and two fitting all the things it needed into two movies.

Ben Affleck as Batman was great and I liked the Batman feel of the movie, but overall, the movie wasnt great. It was too much and got annoying, like when a person tries way too hard to get you to like them. I would not recommend this movie to hardcore comic fans or mild comic fans. I would, however, recommend this movie to people just trying to have a good time.

Hogwarts comes to HollywoodA review of whats new at UniversalBy Damian Contreras

    ENTERTAINMENT

A FEW months ago, Universal Studios Hollywood had opened a new attraction called The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This has been the first new attraction in a while, and it was greatly hyped up, but the question is: Does it live up to the hype?

Throughout the area that is designated around Harry Potter, you can get on rides, visit stores, and get something to eat. While none of this is particularly new in the sense that its a new idea, it does make up for that in immersing its consumers. A few of these stores sell items of magical interest, such as wands, capes, and plush owls. What really interested me about this is that in several places around the area, using your wand (if you bought one) will actually have an effect. You could wave it to make a chocolate frog appear from a case, make a dress dance, and even move a ball.

Once youre done playing around, you could get a snack at one of the food stands, or get a meal at the restaurant, Three Broomsticks. Three Broomsticks really makes you feel as if youre eating in a place in Britain, with such classics as Bangers and Mash, Shepherds Pie, and Fish and Chips. Although the food is nice, the specialty drink is really interesting: Butterbeer.

In case youre wondering no, it doesnt contain any alcohol. Butterbeer is what you get when you mix butterscotch, cream soda, and happiness. It even comes in a tankard to add extra immersion. This drink is very sugary, and Id say that its only downside is the fact that its either a hit or miss with customers. Its either too sugary or just right.

After all this, you get to the rides, but its probably better to ride them before eating. The rides include Flight of the Hippogriff and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Flight of the Hippogriff is a small roller coaster that effectively last about twenty seconds, theres not much else to it. The other ride however, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, takes you through a journey around Hogwartsfrom the quidditch fields to the Chamber of Secrets, youll see it all.

Overall, the experience, execution, and even authenticity are really well done, but I cant get over the fact of the price for everything. If you have extra money lying around, you should make it so you visit very soon; if not, wait awhile until you have enough to truly experience every little bit.

THE WALKING Dead is an American horror/drama comic created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard and adapted for television by Frank Darabont on AMC. You should definitely watch it if youre a fan of the post-apocalyptic/zombie genre.

In the show, a group of survivors have to fend for them-selves and live off of the land in order to survive the perilous occurrences that happen to them, like having to deal with the undead and trying to find a stable environment to live in. The strong leader of the group, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) must lead the last remaining survivors, Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Glenn (Steven Yeun), who have been on the show for many years, with the help of the bow-wielding biker Daryl (Norman Reedus), and finally the katana wielding badass Michonne (Danai Gurira) to fend off the endless brigade of the undead. The actors depict what it truly would feel like to have to deal with their current situation and how they would cope with death and murder in a realistic depiction of the human mind. Their performances are wonderfully done in the style of the show in a poignant and dramatic way that will surprise and astound the viewer.

This season shows the characters having to survive and live in this new home and have to deal with the struggles that come with this strange and different environment. Its always a

constant struggle for the them to scavenge for food and water and ration it reasonable between all of them. Their problems dont end there because they also have to deal with a deadly group of unknown marauders who want to trample on their land and any of the weaker wanderers and survivors that have the misfortune of crossing their path. With the introduction of a new villain at the end of the season, our heroes have to stay on the toes if they want to be able to live another day in the zombie ridden world they live in. The new villain is a one of the most popular villains in the comic series because of his harsh and unforgiving nature towards the people he encounters. He is not a force to be reckoned with and the survivors will have some serious trouble having to take him and his posse down in the next season.

The cliffhanger will want to keep watching the show whether you like the end or not. The show is a brutal and fantastic joyride will make you want to writhe in your seat. Its dark undertones give it a sense of gloom and really immerses you in its gloomy melodramatic world of horrifying events and scary zombies. The way that the events unfold are well written and fit the narrative and adds much detail and events to the story. The show will leave you in awe with its incredible storytelling and violent but beautiful, over-the-top visuals. It is definitely a must watch for all zombie and horror fans out there.

I DONT really know Lamb Of God that much as a band, but I can assure you this isnt no Christian Rock Band. Anyhow I got informed to listen to them was a friend of mine by the nickname of Ice Cream (its a long, sad story). He told me that I should listen to

an album called Sacrament, which he let me borrow, its been months, and I barely listened to the album about two weeks ago...whoops. Lets just get straight to the point. Get it? Because the newspaper is called, To the Point? Ill stop. Thats all you have to say, what are you doing reading this? Read the paragraph below to know about the album!

This album has 11 awesome tracks. This album has some sick guitar solos which feels satisfying when you hear it. The bass feels it does its job to empower the guitars. The drums is just off the charts. Ive heard good drums, but this album literally blew my mind, just how the drummer plays, it feels so fresh. Now it comes to the vocalist; he uses the modern heavy metal vocals. As you can see with other bands who fail this technique sounds like they are just screaming their heads off, but the singer just does the job right. The growls the vocalist has arent as bad if you are really into hearing the lyrics from time to time because youll understand what the singer is saying most of the time.

Overall, I believe that the majority of people who listen to metal should give this album a try. I assure most of you wont be disappointed, unless you like to complain about the simplest things...whoops did I say that out loud! I hope you enjoy, and stay metal!

Lamb of God - SacramentAn album reviewBy Chris Carrillo

ITS ALWAYS heartbreaking to see a band who have impacted a music scene go on hiatus. Recently a pop punk band from New Jersey, named Man Overboard, announced they were going on a hiatus along with some last tour dates. Los Angeles was one of the few lucky cities to get to see them for one last time in a long while.

Man Overboard, along with some other bands, played a small club named Los Globos. When you entered the venue, you saw a small stage with no barricades; it gave you the impression of being at a house show. No barricades meant stage dives, crowd surfing, and most impor-tantly lots of fun. First up, was a local pop punk band named Such a Mess. You could tell they were pouring their hearts out on stage. Being a local band who opens up a show seems to be a lot of pressure, but nonetheless these dudes killed it and did a great job at capturing the crowds attention and keeping them on their feet.

Next was Souvenirs, hailing from Car-pinteria, California. I had heard nothing but positive things about them, so I was very excited to finally see them live. They had more of an indie vibe compared to the previous band, which I absolutely loved. Their entire set was very groovy and their lyrics were captivating.

A pop punk band from Twentynine Palms, California named Forever Came Calling was second to last. I pushed

venue. I cant even begin to describe how amazing their performance was. The entire room was singing along and dancing, it felt like one happy family. Everywhere you turned it was just people with their friends, jumping and screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs. The band kept thanking the fans over and over again for coming out and helping them achieve their dreams. They played many fan favorites like World Favorite, White Lies, Septemberism, and even a song I had requested, S.A.D! Overall the room was filled with nothing but positive vibes. They closed the night out with Rare. Youre so worth all of this torture were the last lyrics we sang not only that night, but for a long while.

my way through the sweaty crowd to be second row. This band is one of my favorite bands to see live. They had quite a few fans ready to get the party started. As soon as they stepped on stage, there were already people crowd surfing and finger pointing to their music. The crowd kept swaying side to side, bopping to their music. There were people who didnt know who this band was, yet were having the time of their lives. This band is like no other, they are always telling jokes and interacting with people in the crowd.

Last but not least, was Man Overboard. A truly bittersweet moment. They opened up with a song named Montrose which contain the lyrics my heart caves in when I look at you. It was incredible to yell those lyrics out, along with the entire

arrived with virtual reality (VR) bringing a new meaning to interactive and immer-sive play. The next big thing in the world of gaming is virtual reality systems. It works similar to how a projector works graphics-wise, but functionality-wise its a whole new idea that brings about the new age in gaming.

The actual gameplay isnt like any-thing youve seen or felt. With what theyre advertising, its the going to be the best experience youve ever had playing a game. With just watching someone use it for a total of 16 minutes, I was dumbfounding what I saw on the green screen; the graphics were abso-lutely stunning. How interactive it was brought a new meaning to interactive gaming; this really blows the Kinect out

of the water when it comes to interactive gaming. In terms of how much it draws you in, it was like being in a gaming booth that was blacked out and had a huge screen with an amazing surround sound system. My friend explained it as being the coolest thing hes done.

What you do with the Steam VR is you set up two cameras in the corners of your room, launch the game you wish to play, strap on the hand control-lers, put on gaming headphones for a deeper and more immersive experi-ence, and finally the VR headset (the HTC Vive) itself. So the Vive seems to be popular, but how cool can it really be? After extensively watching stream-ers use it and reading many reviews, I can conclude there is nothing wrong

with it except the price tag ($799.99). In addition, a high-powered PC is needed to run the system.

The Oculus Rift is less expensive ($599.99). It uses an xBox controller, and you need to play on an high-powered PC to play the games available. It also doesnt have handheld controllers yet.

Playstation will also be coming out with their own VR system which will be released in October 2016 and will be priced at $499.99. Unlike the Vive and Oculus Rift, it is console compat-ible, plugging into a Playstation 4. This means that you do not need a high powered PC to experience VR as you would with the other systems.
