A LETTER from TOCQUEVILLE SOCIETY CHAIRS 3 Dear UnitedWay of Broward County Tocqueville Society Members: rough your personal involvement and generous financial support, you lead United Way of Broward County in creating sustained improvements in our community’s health and human services. Assisting those who are less fortunate, the Tocqueville Society membership has made a real difference by demonstrating what Alexis de Tocqueville observed many years ago – that Americans hold in common a unique willingness to work for the public welfare – a tendency to lend faithful support to neighbors and countrymen, especially in times of need. As chairs of the UWBC Tocqueville Society, we applaud you and what you have been able to accomplish for the good of our community. We thank you for your continued support – and for being leaders in making a difference in what truly matters. Sincerely, Brenda M. Johnson, UWBC Tocqueville Society Chair 2003-04 to 2006-07 Jeff Falkanger, Incoming UWBC Tocqueville Society Chair 2007-08
