Last week’s shootings in Colorado proved that statement to be notso true. Senseless acts like those are so hard to understand & truly makes uslook at our problems just a little differently. We have obviously fielded severalcalls this past week on continued dry conditions. Here are some guidelines: 1) Early weaning/early marketing: Several people are looking at this avenue. Besure to get these calves fully vaccinated if possible. The green tag programremains the best option.2) Feed conditions/availability: Just a little good news here. Reports around theSioux City area has federal crop zeroing out several fields. We have customerswho have been piling several tons of silage. We are encouraging everyone togather up any feed possible. The more we can chop we have a chance to softenthis hay issue quite a bit.A good friend of mine said the Red Cross is very short on their blood supply.She encourages you all to sign up if you can & be a blood donor.
