Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. is a South Korean multinational electronics company headquartered in Suwon, South Korea. It is a global leader in consumer electronics and white goods. The Samsung India Online Shop is managed and maintained by Samsung India Electronics eStore team backed by its dedicated team at Netsmartz.
The Samsung team at Netsmartz has developed the Samsung India’s online eStore and are currently maintaining it. It has been built using the Magento Community Framework. The objective was to provide a good scalable online ecommerce platform for Samsung consumers, employees and enterprises directly linked with Samsung, to purchase different products with ease.

Netsmartz set up a dedicated team to develop a new storefront for Samsung
An SME (Subject Matter Expert) was appointed to architect the solution
The team follows the Agile process using JIRA to keep track of day to day tasks and to provide visibility to the client
A daily Scrum meeting with the client is part of the process
The Project Manager is the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) who liaises with the client

The team needed to be in a controlled environment for security and confidentiality reasons
Branding guidelines needed to be followed to the letter so they needed an experienced team that could handle the task
The team had to be skilled in multiple technologies since the project had a lot of parameters that needed to be met
The Samsung team at Netsmartz consists of 21 team members.
This has grown from the initial team of 6 people. The team is
expected to expand in the coming months.

Reports have been upgraded further to provide all the
analytical information needed by the eStore team
The distribution line in the backend of the new application
has been enhanced to allow engagement of multiple
distributors and brand shops to upload and sell their
respective inventories online
We provide 24x7 NOC support to handle and solves queries
related to Amazon Server, Galera Cluster and Modsec
security
Functionality Testing, Automation Testing, Performance
Testing, Cross-browser Testing, Beta Testing and Accessibility

A Content Management engine was created using Magento
and MySQL so Samsung's Sales teams could put together
product details and information speedily in the backend
Enhanced features like Pre-booking, Notify me, Multiple
Payment Gateways, Track Shipments were implemented and
control was provided to the eStore team
The website was made responsive and a single login allows
customers to access all Samsung's global sites with the same
account
A PWA (Progressive Web Application) is under development.
Progressive Web Apps are experiences that combine the best
of the Web and the best of apps
The back-end architecture of the new system was built to
scale (hosted on Amazon Cloud) and to tackle high traffic
load smoothly. It handles 60 – 70K users every day and this is
only expected to grow exponentially
The new application has been encapsulated by server level
security modules and a firewall to prevent unwanted
intrusions on the website
The administrator panel access levels have also been
enhanced using feature-based roles and permissions
Flash Sales and campaigns are now easy to manage and can
be rolled out as and when needed, using the customized
workflows implemented within Magento
All the three store fronts (B2C, B2E and B2B) have been
merged. Since the data is centralized, the eStore team can
manage the product line, orders and offerings from one
single Admin panel
