    Structural Commercial Manager QLD Tom brings over 25 years of structural design experience in a wide range of building types and best design practice, having worked worldwide.

    Tom is responsible for managing small and large project teams and has worked closely with a number of notable architects and builders. His experience includes medium and high-rise offices, sporting complexes, long span roofs, towers, retail developments, airport terminals, refurbishment and historic retention, waterfront redevelopment and a wide range of academic buildings.

    At various times throughout his career, Tom has assisted local universities provide industry feedback to architectural students completing design courses and projects, comprising short scheduled consultation visits during classes. Included in these was a semester at the University of Sydney, Australia in 1999, and Pratt University, New York City in 1997. Tom was appointed as a Lecturer at Harvard Universitys Graduate School of Design for the Spring Semester of 2005.

    Mariners Cove Gold Coast Apartment Towers - Sunland. Early concept design with Sunland on these 2 x 30 storey apartment towers with a striking design by International architect, Zaha Hadid. Tom engaged with Sunland (as client and builder) and the architects to develop cost-effective solutions for the sloping and leaning vertical structure, incorporated into floorplates varying at each level in plan.

    Student Accommodation Tower, Brisbane - Tom developed early schemes together with the architect, Crone Associates, on this 40 story student accommodation tower in Brisbanes CBD, incorporating below ground basement parking.

    Residential towers in Brisbane - alternative construction approach - Tom is working closely with an engineering technology company to review and consider possible applications of a highly Innovative and industry changing approach to design and construction of residential towers In Australia and beyond, which will allow longer spans, faster construction and earlier completion.

    Ashmore Shopping Centre Redevelopment, Gold Coast, Australia - Tom is working with Hutchinsons Builders, Buchan Group Architects and the client, Engage Capital, to develop designs for this complex staged redevelopment that incorporates permanent and temporary perimeter retention, below ground basement carparking levels, minimisation of transfers and sculpted external roofs.

    Westfield, Sydney City Zone 1. Project Manager and Team Leader for Structural Consultant on the AUD$600m redevelopment of Westfields central city Centrepoint Tower site. In Zone 1 full stability analysis of the existing 300 metre tall Centrepoint tower was required to determine extent of impact on occupant comfort and tower dynamic response parameters from refurbishment works carried out to the base building. Complex construction sequencing was wholly developed by Tom for use by Westfield Construction Planners in developing the overall construction sequence for the project.

    Westfield Sydney City Zone 2. Project Manager and Team leader for design of the new 170m plus tall commercial tower, with oval shaped plan, offset core and monumental sloping transfer columns at skylobby level. 4 levels of basement lay beneath 7 level of retail and the skylobby level marking commencement of the commercial tower.

    D1 Apartment Tower, Dubai. Acted as lead structural engineer on design of the tower crown and base surround canopy, and verification of the 80 storey towers stability system and typical floor structures.

    Walsh Bay Residential Redevelopment, Sydney, Australia. Structural Team Leader for $500m redevelopment of disused waterfront and piers west of Dawes Point in Sydney, involving adaptive re-use of existing structures and complete replacement of one pier.

    Munich Airport Centre (MAC) Forum Roof, Munich Airport, Germany. 90m span cable stayed steel roof structure carrying alternate glass and fabric bays. Structural team leader through concept, design and site phases for this high-profile project at Munich Airport. Architects Murphy/Jahn out of Chicago.

    University Athletic Centre, Kenyon College, Ohio, USA. Lead structural engineer for the design of a new 22,000 m fitness, athletic and recreation centre including an indoor track, 50m swimming pool, an 1800 seat arena, various racket courts and a gymnasium.

    Goodman Fielder multi-storey commercial building at Maquarie University Research Park, Sydney. A 14,000 m office development in research park attached to University grounds.

    Moreton Bay Rail 6 stations, Brisbane, QLD. The concept design for this new proposed rail link comprised of six stations of various orientations and layouts. A structural concept was developed that offered a kit of parts solution. This solution was adopted to simplify construction and deliver cost efficiencies yet offers consistent architectural theme to the new rail link
