Isaac Vinales third in Moto3 GP Argentina !

LS2 rider Isaac Vinales delivered a near faultless race in the Moto3 Gp of Argentina in what was one of the most thrilling the small bike class has

delivered. While the race leader was out in front in an unassailable position, Vinales, who rides the Husqvarna FR 250 GP machine was one of a

following group of ten riders all of whom could have taken the two remaining podium places. Less than two seconds separated riders in places 2-12

at the end of the heart-stopping 21-lap race. Vinales was strong all weekend on the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit and started the race from the

second row after a solid qualifying session. He had a good start and led the field going into the second lap. While the position of riders in the following

pack changed every few seconds, the Spanish rider was always a major player and was rarely out of the top three as the race went into it is critical

phase. Always strong on the brakes, it was clear early on that he was in with a good chance of making the top three and he didn’t disappoint.

Isaac Vinales : “I am very happy. I went out and pushed in every lap. We have all been working very hard and now we see the result. I tried to pass

Vazquez in the last corner but I wasn’t able to get past him. This third place is a real morale booster ahead of Jerez and I think with the work we are

doing we can also be up there again there.” It was Vinales’ best result in the three rounds already run and he is fifth in the championship points."

West reached the seventh place at the Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin U.S.A.

In Austin Moto2 race Anthony West dropped back behind the front group of riders at the beginning of the race and lost further time battling with

other rivals, but he was back in tenth place on lap 14 and made his decisive move when he overtook two riders in one single lap to secure seventh

place with four laps to go.

Anthony West: "My start was really good, but because I was on the outside going into turn one, I got caught up with some other guys that were on

the inside and they got past me. I didn't find a good rhythm on this first lap and lost a few more positions. Every time I then passed somebody, they

would get me again and eventually I lost the group that was in front. It took me nearly the whole race to catch up again to the group with Simon,

Kallio and those guys. I decided to stay behind Corsi and let him do the work, which turned out to be the right choice. When we finally got to the

group, I managed to pass him and also to catch some of the others. I am happy with this result and with the way the bike is going. It is a lot more

consistent now and I'm confident that in the next races, we will be stronger than before”.

West battles to 14th place in Argentina Grand Prix

Aussie rider Anthony West had a good start into the Grand Prix of Argentina and was within the top ten of the hard-fought Moto2 category on the

opening laps of the race, but found it tough to match the speed of the other riders in the slipstream battles of the fast Termas de Rio Hondo circuit

and finished a hard battle in 14th position. Even though the LS2 rider had aimed much higher than that, he still left the track in good spirits, since

he had made further progress with the base set-up of his Speed Up bike.

Anthony West : “I am happy with my start and with the set-up of the bike. We made some changes from Saturday and they were an improvement.

The weather was obviously better for us as well, due to the lower temperatures. I made my way up to ninth place on the first couple of laps and I felt

quite strong in the corners. But when it came down to racing with the others, I just couldn’t do anything because on some parts of the track, I didn’t

have the right speed. When I would come up behind the others and pull out of the slipstream, I would get stuck besides them, whereas they could

pass me out of the slipstream quite easily. The good thing is that I was behind Luthi for a couple of laps and I was able to confirm our progress in the

development of the bike. I’d like to thank my team, because the bike was set-up well and I felt comfortable. We just lacked some speed!”

Simone Corsi very close to the Top10 in Austin

Simone Corsi ended up in 11th place in the Grand Prix of the Americas on the track of Austin in U.S.A. The Italian rider started in 12th position and

has been struggling throughout the race to get in the top 10 and crossed the line in eleventh place. Corsi collects here the first championship points

after the fall in Qatar.

Simone Corsi : “I finished a race and that's the important thing. Physically I was ok and I had no problems. I cannot tell I am entirely happy because

my goal was to approach the Top5. It was not an easy race, the first laps, with a wet track, I was not able to close the gap with the leading pack and I

could not finish where I wanted to”.

Simone Corsi forced to retire in Argentina

Simone Corsi was forced to retire in Termas de Rio Hondo , the Italian rider had a very good start but was soon trapped in the traffic and lost several

positions. In his attempt to recover, he crashed and was forced to retire. In the fall he reported an abrasion to his ring finger of his left hand which

was promptly treated at the Clinica Mobile.

Simone Corsi : “Unfortunately it was a not great race. I started well but I was close to the lead and I was stuck in the traffic. I lost several positions

and in the rush to recover I made a small mistake and I crashed. In the fall, I suffered an abrasion of the ring finger of the left hand that was fixed

with two stitches. I’m looking forward to get back on track in Jerez, this weekend we proved to be competitive”.

Hard race for Lorsi Baz in Austin

It was a difficult race for the LS2 rider Loris Baz in the Grand Prix of the Americas on the track in Austin, Texas. The French rider crossed the line in

17th position. It was a complicated race for Baz who started from the 20th place. He struggled at the start, but remained close to the points, before

starting to lose grip on the front and crossed the line in 17th position.

Loris Baz : "It was not the race I had imagined. I did not have a good start but I was immediately fast and I closed the gap with the group in front of

me. I had a good pace and I did the whole first half of the race with them, before losing a bit of grip on the front. I struggled in the final laps, but I'm

happy to have finished the race. The points-zone is close, we learned a lot this weekend and this is a good starting point in view of the next races”.

First MotoGP points for Loris Baz in Termas de Rio Hondo

Loris Baz finished the Termas de Rio Hondo race scoring points. The young French rider have crossed the line in 15th position. Baz, who started

22nd was the protagonist of a good recovery and he collected his first points in MotoGP. The LS2 rider, who made his debut in the premier class of

motorcycle Grand Prix in Qatar, had a good race pace and was able to reach his direct competitors finishing third in the Open category.

Loris Baz : “It was a really good race and I am very satisfied. I struggled in the opening laps with a full tank as I was losing the front and I had to give

in different positions. With the passing of laps the feeling improved and I managed to keep a really good pace that allowed me to reach my direct

opponents. Today I picked up my first points in MotoGP, I am very happy and I have to say thanks to all the guys for their work. In just three races

we have reach the goal of scoring points".

Yonny starts fast but crashes on lap 8

The first overseas weekend of the season ends with regrets for the slide of Yonny Hernandez who had appeared to be in great form since the morning

warm up. At the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, Hernandez soon managed to make up six positions, gaining ninth place. Five laps later the

Colombian rider crashed in the last corner before the main straight and was unable to rejoin the race.

Yonny Hernandez: "I started very well but with the hard tire I could never find the pace to go fast. I felt I lost grip on the front tyre and I would have

to slow down a bit. In the corner before the main straight I made a mistake losing the rear wheel and I crashed. I'm very sorry but I was really at the

limit in every corner and it would have been very difficult to get to the end continuing to push hard. Now I have to focus on the Grand Prix of

Argentina, which I consider almost a home race. I will have much motivation. I will give my best to make a good result”.

Yonny forced to retire in Argentina due to a technical problem

An unlucky retirement of Yonny Hernandez due to a technical problem in the GP de la Republica Argentina. Yonny once again rocketed away at the

start and made up four positions in less than two laps to get behind his team-mate Petrucci. The Colombian rider, who had looked fast since the

morning warm-up unfortunately was forced to stop his bike due to an oil leak that caused the bike to catch fire after coming into contact with the hot

exhaust. Luckily there were no consequences for him. The LS2 rider (still at 6 points in the Championship standing) has the possibility to improve in

a fortnight in the GP of Spain at the Circuit of Jerez.

Yonny Hernandez :"I am very sad about what has happened. I started very well, recovering positions and entering the Top 10 where I wanted to

finish the race. Unfortunately that problem happened. After the main straight I felt something very hot coming from below. I did not immediately

notice the fire. But a couple of corners later the temperature became unbearable. I saw the flames and I had to stop. I do not know what was the

problem and the team is trying to understand what happened. Certainly I had bad luck. Now I have to think only about of Jerez. I want to have a

good race and I will give my all ".
