Piemonte, North-west Italian region, can boast a complete pipeline of skills and qualifications, high-level manufacturing and service companies, cooperation with universities and the R&D network, unique manufacturing and engineering know-how, educational & training system and organized supply chains all topped up by a good quality of life.
The five international players - Leonardo, Avio Aero, Avio Spa, UTAS and Thales Alenia Space - together with a group of 280 SMEs total 14,779 employees and register 3.9 billion € turnover.
Piemonte Aerospace provides international players a free preferential channel to meet and start business with 100 top class aerospace & defense selected enterprises based in Piemonte.
All fields of production are represented:
About 90% of the companies invest in R&D, while 65% own national and international quality accreditations, 83% is present on international markets: exports are mostly directed to EU Countries (100%), North America (58%) and Asia/Oceania (43%).
The Piemonte Aerospace Team’s assistance is a supply chain focused approach. The Team makes an assessment of procurements’ needs and technicians’ requirements from all over the world and provides them with:• top class skills and unique manufacturing know-how • capable suppliers who can deliver on time high-quality parts and products at competitive prices• technologically qualified and competitive supply chains sharing commercial objectives, target clients and
strategies• technical working groups where local enterprises and foreign companies work together to develop projects
aligned to the expectations of their international players.
In 2008 Piemonte Aerospace launched Aerospace & Defense Meetings, one of the most successful events organised within the project with the industrial support of LEONARDO.
The rich programme of the 2017 edition, which can rely on the industrial support of LEONARDO, includes a key conference dealing with the latest and most crucial topics of the aerospace sector entitled “Digital Transformation and Aerospace Industry 4.0”, the Innovation & Space Village, an exhibition area dedicated to showcasing the most recent innovations and ideas, an agenda of collateral events, panel discussions between aerospace industry high level referents and Italian and regional authorities, thematic workshops, OEMs procurement & supply chain sessions and innovative seminars.
The project is promoted by Regione Piemonte (Regional Government), co-financed by ERDF - European Regional Development Found and managed by Piemonte Agency.
