Dear parents and carers,

We are now officially half way through our school term. Great learning is taking place in classrooms and we have a lovely feeling of calm across the school. This is reflected in our PBL data from our mainstream classes.

This data shows us 98% of our students are making positive behaviour choices for their behaviour and when they are faced with challenges and respond inappropriately – they can fix it. What a great skill to learn! We are very proud of our TPS kids and their commitment to be their best.

We loved our Showcase assembly last Friday. Thank you to all of our community members who attended. At last count there were approximately 140 people. This is a show of incredible support for the work that we are doing at TPS.

Thank you also to all of our parents and carers who attended our Parent Information evening on 21 February. 105 of our students had a loved one attending. We really appreciate this commitment to working in partnership with us. We also understand that our timing of events doesn’t work for everyone, please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like information or to share your thoughts.

Thank you for your ongoing support. As a team we are doing a great job of making our school a positive, rewarding place for everyone.

Kind regards

Kim Witt

Class Dojo Our class dojo platform is proving to be a great communication system between home and school. If you are missing this communication, get in touch with your child’s teacher.

Introducing We welcome Cassie Rogers

to our TPS team. Miss Rogers will be working with

K-6C until the end of the term. When you see her

friendly face, please make her feel welcome.

School Zones, Parking and Traffic Please adhere to the 40km limit within the school zone.

LMCC has advised that the Ranger will be patrolling our area with particular focus

on illegal parking, double parking and illegal U- turns at our school. Please

observe the parking rules outside our school.

This is about keeping our kids safe.

P&C News The P&C have been looking into an online Canteen and Uniform ordering system. We would like to know your thoughts on implementing an online ordering system. Please find a poll attached in the newsletter and return to the office. The Canteen now has fresh fruit and veg tubs for $1 available for lunch and fruit break. These can also be added to lunch orders. Our next P&C meeting will be held this Tuesday, the 5th of March at 6.30pm in the staffroom. A reminder that membership for new members is $2. Our AGM will be held on Friday, the 29th of March at 9.30am in the Library. All positions will be declared vacant. Normal P&C meeting will follow directly afterwards.

Mappen in 2I This term, 2I have been developing an understanding of their ‘Identities’ and exploring ‘Growing Older and Wiser’. To assist with their understandings of change, Miss Booth and 2I have planted snow peas in the classroom as part of an experiment to record how their snow pea seed changes during the first term.

2I also planted one seed in an air locked bag and another seed placed in a dark cupboard. These experiments aim to show what would happen to the seed if it was not given oxygen or sunlight. “If I was an ant, I would rather climb up on the leaf. It would be like a tree. I

think I have five seeds in my bag.” - Sasha

“My plant is big! If I was an ant, it would be a big enough garden for me.” - Elkie

P & C SURVEY Would you like to have Online Ordering for the

Canteen and Uniform Shop? The P&C have been looking into options of Online Canteen and Uniform ordering systems. There are a few companies that offer these services and we have decided that Ultimate Schools is the most cost effective system available. The P&C would like to know your thoughts on implementing an online ordering system in the school. So that you can make an informed decision, here is a brief rundown of how it works.

• You can order your childs’ lunch online up until 9am in the morning. • You can pay by bank transfer or credit card. • Creating an account with Ultimate Schools is free • The canteen menu online can be updated to remove items that are out of stock • To order online, the cost to parents is 25c per order • Cash options will still be available at the canteen.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send us a message on our Facebook page. You can also check out Ultimate School’s website at www.ultimateschools.com.au We would really appreciate your feedback.
