A GLANCE AT OCTOBERCAPTURING DELIGHT{FULL} MOMENTS

Everyone enjoyed the various holiday activities, including the Ukrainian Christmas Customs & Traditions event.

Young violinist extraordinaire shares his love of musicNine-year-old fiddle phenom Jack Forestier (accompanied by his parents, Michel and Marie Forestier) entertained a crowd at Touchmark. “After seeing Jack perform at a fundraiser, I wanted him to come here. I used to play violin myself, so when I saw such a vibrant little guy play so well at such a young age … it was astounding,” says resident Carol Martin. Accomplished in both classical and fiddle styles, Jack demonstrated his string skills during an entertaining afternoon.

Jack fiddled his way into Canadians’ hearts and became a semifinalist on the television show Canada’s Got Talent. Jack’s passion for performing started at a young age thanks to his parents—Michel, a classical guitarist, and Marie, a violinist. It was Marie who began teaching Jack to play at just two years old.

As you enjoy the merriment of the season, take time to think about the importance of your heart health as well as your relational health and legacy. In two articles, Touchmark Vice President of Wellness & Programs Marge Coalman, EdD, discusses the importance of connecting with family (and especially creating an end-of-life plan) and shares helpful information from the 50th US Surgeon General’s Report on Smoking and Health.
