Since its debut in 2012, Firefly Music Festival has tripled in size. Hosted each June by Red Frog Events, this large-scale outdoor festival takes place within the grounds surrounding the Dover International Speedway in Dover, DE.

Hundreds of staff members, sponsors, vendors, and VIP guests depend on WiFi in order to operate. The challenge is to deliver reliable internet connectivity for a broad range of applications over a very large area. No two events are the same, and each team must be prepared to adapt to changes.

Using a combination of permanent fiber links and a point-to-point design,, our technicians design and deploy a temporary wireless network which is actively monitored throughout the event When interference hits, we troubleshoot to make sure the connection stays live. When a remote ticket scanning location needs to be relocated during the event, we make it happen. One single link within this deployment extends nearly two miles, and with over 200 connection points over 105 acres, this is among our largest deployments.

By investing in connectivity, Red Frog creates a positive experience for hundreds of staff members and 90,000 guests.

Three launch events, hosted in London, Tokyo, and San Francisco, were held to announce new offerings from the Amazon family of products including the Amazon Fire Tablet and Fire TV.

Competition is stiff within the global consumer technology market, and events such as these are kept in strict secrecy for a market advantage. To maintain confidentiality, a launch event may take place in an unconventional venue such as a private residence in San Francisco.

A fast and secure internet connection, provided by TOURtech, ensures that Fire TV and the Fire Tablet devices perform properly during the demonstration.

As a result, on the day of the announcement, the new Amazon Fire Tablet was one of the biggest headlines in the technology media that day.

We can talk about it now. For high-profile consumer technology product launches, TOURtech provides essential connectivity in strict confidentiality.

The Washington Ideas Forum is a meeting of global thought leaders that generates and inspires discussion of pressing issues and ideas facing humanity. Presented by Atlantic Live in partnership with The Aspen Institute, The Washington Ideas Forum takes place at the Harman Center for the Arts in Washington D.C.

In 2014, with less than four weeks until the event, it was determined that network infrastructure within the venue was not adequate to handle the demand created by a live stream and 700 audience members.

TOURtech coordinated with the venue and a local bandwidth provider to create and implement a solution to augment the existing venue infrastructure.

As a result, the live stream, production team, and the audience experienced a fast and stable connection. This solution was so effective that TOURtech was invited back in 2015 for another flawless deployment.

For conferences that highlight innovation and propel society forward, the need to connect and share information is sure to only grow.

Each fall, in the heart of Chicago’s Grant Park, 45,000 runners of all shapes and sizes gather at the starting line of one of only six races in the Abbott World Marathon Majors - the Chicago Marathon.

Bustling behind the scenes of this high-profile large outdoor event, Forward Command serves as headquarters for emergency personnel from both local and federal agencies. Communication between these agencies and their teams in the field is paramount to the safety of runners and spectators alike.

Knowing the importance of a reliable internet connection, Chicago Event Management (CEM) enlists TOURtech to build the backbone of event communications. TOURtech’s team of network engineers design, build and monitor all data traffic through the network and remain onsite throughout the event to provide immediate solutions to unexpected challenges. Additionally, VoIP services are deployed and provide both production and emergency response teams with dedicated numbers, extension dialing, and advanced PBX features.

The result is flawless execution and the epitome of temporary solutions with permanent reliability.

The intensity of this type of sporting event creates a sense of urgency that calls for experience and attention to detail that only TOURtech can provide.

Event Marketing is big in the world of sports, and for prominent consumer technology brands such as Verizon, sponsorship activations create face-to-face interactions and generate millions of online impressions. Participating in free sponsored activities at a big game is now a big part of the fan experience, and The Verizon Power House at Verizon Super Bowl Central entertained over 13,000 guests in downtown Phoenix in January of 2015.

Magnetic Creative and Wasserman Media set out to transform the brand’s perception from a cell phone carrier to a forward-thinking technology brand.

To do this, they created a space where people can experience futuristic technologies such as interactive video walls, virtual reality, holograms, and projection-mapping. All of these require wireless internet connectivity to be delivered to a temporary pop-up event space.

To support all of these exhibits, the team needed to deploy a highly capable, temporary wireless network backbone within a busy downtown area. TOURtech accepts the challenge, partnering with Magnetic Creative to design and build a custom solution.

The Verizon Power House operated on a custom VLAN throughout the duration of the event.
