personnel through inhalation, ingestion, or

absorption or other physical contact.

TIM, or Toxic Industrial Materials,

refers to any substance that in a

given quantity produces a

toxic/harmful effect in exposed

personnel through inhalation,

ingestion, or absorption or other

physical contact.

The term CBRN is replacing the

out-dated NBC (Nuclear,

Biological, Chemical) acronym in

many countries and can be said to

be a synonym for Weapons of

Mass Destruction (WMD).
