Solar New Year Date (2/22/2010 yellow square) are considered the first day of a 365 day solar year calendar and since they count every day includingleap year - these dates change every 4 years. NOJ, IK KIEJ & E are the time keepers and creator of calendars. 8 BATZ DAYS (5/22/2009 and2/6/2010 blue square) are considered the beginning of a sacred 260 day prophetic calendar. Huge celebrations take place in Guatemala on 8 Batzdays every 260 days. The Kiche consider the center point of the calendar to be the beginning of time. Everything begins at the center. 20 days/sun afterthe center point is 8 Batz and the ceremonies. They believe that they need 20 days/suns to re-create the calendar. It is a little like God created Heavenand Earth in 7 days and on the 7th day he rested... The Kiche rest on day 21, after 20 days of meditation prayer, purification and ceremony.
