Pre-trailer advertising….

On YouTube before the trailer appears there is an advert for tampax…I know I’m meant to be analysing the trailer to how it fits its target market and the sound track used etc.. But I thought it was interesting that this advert was played before this

certain trailer. The trailer is apart of the romance genre which stereotypically is watched by females and Tampax is a female hygiene product so the advert’s and the trailer’s target audience’s are the same.

Titles and Credits…

The typography for this film’s trailer is very basic and subtle, there are also very few of them. For the main title the font is different to the credits, it looks almost handwritten which gives the film a more personal touch but also relates to the plot of the film (Her husband writing her letters.) The typography is a very important aspect of films as it is the thing which draws the viewer's attention, it also gives the viewer a brief idea of the type of film if the typography is and in doing so may connote different emotional responses through the design. ‘slanty’ typography will insinuate that

the film may be a historical film or if its ‘chiller’ it implies that it could be a horror film. So by P.S I Love using a personal typography does allow the viewers to make assumptions as to what sort of film it is going to be. Typically the Title of the film will be near the end of the trailer they would chose to do this as it will most likely be remembered as it’s one of the last things the viewers will see along with the credits and the date of its release, In a way these are the three most important parts of a trailer and it’s the need-to-know information.
