Participants Training Route

External Agency Referral

Referral Meetings take place on the first Monday of every month. Referrals are made to

the Project Coordinator. It is compulsory for referral agents to attend referral meetings

to present.

Interview Process

Participants are sent a formal invitation to attend interview. This process gives the

opportunity for staff and participants to gain a greater insight into the project and

includes a tour of the facility.

Induction

The induction process takes place over a week (timetable enclosed). Participants will

agree a code of conduct, gain understanding of Health and Safety, complete Basic Skills

Assessment and Learning Styles, Richter Scale Assessment, complete Individual Learning

Plan and participate in a Team Building day with trainees who are already engaging in

the programme. Additional to this the participant will achieve 3 Units of the *BTEC

Workskills; Conduct at Work (Entry Level) Safe Learning in the Work Place (Level 1), and

Investigating Rights and Responsibilities (Level 1).

Skill Based Programme of Activity

The participant will have a taster of various skill based activities (timetable enclosed)

including Personal Social Development Workshops, Arts & Media, Motor Vehicle,

Environmental Work and Outdoor Education. Participation in this area of Transition

enables participants to achieve a variety of OCN qualifications and British Safety Council

Certificate in Health & Safety Level 1 along with access to a variety of other work related

accreditation.

Additionally the programme will aim to enable participants to complete City & Guilds

ESW qualifications in Communication and Application of Numbers. Participants will also

be supported in preparation for work through the completion of *BTEC Workskills;

Searching for a Job (Level 1) and Applying for a Job (Level 1).

Work Prep Package

The work prep package assists participants to develop their CV’s, practice completing

application forms, writing cover letters and searching for jobs. The package gives

participants the opportunity to gain the basic skills necessary for future job applications.

Pre-employment Training

Pre-employment takes place over a 2 week period, week 1 of training enclosed (see

timetable), Week 2 consists of work placement. If successful in week 2 trainees will

often maintain their placement. Placements are best matched to the participants

Individual Learning Plan. Participation in pre-employment enables participants to

achieve the following BTEC Workskills Units; Preparing for Interview (Level 1) and

Interview Skills (Level 1).

Additionally during Pre-employment training, participants will complete Manual

Handling and First Aid training to support them in their work placement. Participants

also have access to a variety of other training to support them on placement these have

included Food Hygiene and Brush Cutter and Maintenance.

Work Placement

Participants are best matched to a work placement according to regular reviews and

Individual Learning Plans. Participation in work placement enables participants to

achieve The BTEC Workskills Unit, Learning from Work Placement (Level 1).

Existing Project

Participants are contacted once successful in securing Employment, Training or Further

Education. Participants complete a Financial Literacy Workshop prior to exiting the

programme whilst achieving a BTEC Workskills Unit; Managing your own Money (Level

1).

*Note: Transition into Employment is able to offer Entry and Level 1 in Workskills

dependant upon level of learner.
