Ethical leaders need to ensure they meet certain criteria and have certain habits. Leaders have a big role in decision making to ensure decisions are fair and acceptable to all parties.
Psychologist Daniel Goleman has produced a list of leadership known as Goleman Leadership Competencies. It refers to the emotional intelligence that should exist in a leader. Listed four main things are self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management.
Breakdown of self-management will produce one important aspect namely transparency. Self-management means that the leader handling their emotions so that they facilitate rather than interfere; delaying gratification to pursue goals; recovering well from emotional distress; deploying our deepest preferences to take initiative, improve and persevere.

Therefore, when we talk about ethical leaders being transparent, this means that leaders must displaying honesty, integrity and trustworthiness. The leaders will displays authentic openness by owning one's feelings, admitting mistakes, taking responsibility for personal performance, being open to new ideas. In other words, transparent and ethical leaders are actively involved in organizational decision making is a strong habits of ethical leaders.
Decision-making process is very important as the people around will evaluate the habits of certain leaders and how decisions can influence and solve problems.
