Teddy Bear
"A Teddy Bear is a soft toy in the form of a bear. Developed
apparently simultaneously by toymakers Morris Michtom in the US and
Richard Steiff in Germany in the early years of the 20th century, and
named after President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, the teddy bear
became an iconic children's toy, celebrated in stories, songs, and films.
Since the creation of the first teddy bears, which sought to imitate the
form of real bear cubs, "teddies" have greatly varied in form, style and
material. They have become collector's items, with older and rarer
"teddies" appearing at public auctions. Teddy bears are among the most
popular gifts for children and are often given to adults to signify love,
congratulations, or sympathy."

Our Teddy Bear
Travel with me is an European project involving schools in
Turkey, Romania, Poland, Spain, Portugal and Greece.
Our TEDDY BEAR travels all
over Europe by post, from one
participating school to another.
The mascot stays a week in each
school. When it arrives at the
“new” school, the partner teachers
organize a welcome party. Teddy
goes with the pupils to normal
lessons, visits students’ home, is
used in spare time activities or any
other activities that teachers decide
to do in their school. During the
visit, students take photos, videos,
make slideshows, write down what they experience and share their
ideas with other Partner school students. The texts should not to be
detailed, only short texts in English.
In the last day, partner teachers are responsible for organizing a
goodbye party, inside the whole school or in their own classroom.
The mascot is sent on a new travel, to visit the next city and the
next participant school. We can follow the mascot´s journey from
social media and twinspace.
