The Treaty Division at UIB operates in over 20 countries worldwide, where our clients include some of the largest Insurance and Reinsurance companies – for many of which we are the flag broker.We handle Treaty Reinsurance business for a wide range of classes, from property, motor and marine to aviation & space, energy, healthcare and life. The UIB Treaty team is committed to maintaining a continuous dialogue with our clients; and as such, the Division has a policy of visiting clients frequently as well as attending the major reinsurance conferences. To support and enhance dialogue with clients, our team consists of multi-lingual personnel who are able to communicate fluently in Arabic, French, German, Mandarin, Cantonese, Portuguese and Spanish. As part of our commitment to servicing the needs of our clients, we hold an International Reinsurance Seminar each year in London, covering a wide range of topics related to Risk Management and Treaty Reinsurance. Our Seminars are led by market experts of many years practical experience in the market and we regularly call upon leading figures in the London Reinsurance underwriting community as guest speakers. These events have proved very successful and if you wish to learn more about attending one of our seminars, please contact us.In addition to a regular dialogue with our clients, our in-depth knowledge of the territories in which our clients operate and the reinsurance markets where their business is placed have proved vital to our continuing success. When choosing which markets to approach, UIB maintain strict criteria as to the Reinsurers with whom we place our clients’ business. It is our aim to build for our clients close long-term relationships with a strong panel of Reinsurers offering proven claims paying capability. An additional service provided by the Treaty Division includes detailed reports on the reinsurance requirements of clients including cost analysis of the various forms of reinsurance structures available. This service involves the use of sophisticated modelling techniques.

We are highly experienced not only in well-established and sophisticated markets, but also in emerging and newly liberalised markets such as South America and India.

4) Private and independently-owned: As an independent broker, we focus on generating long-term value for our clients by timely accessing global markets for local interests, by selecting and negotiating with suitable local Insurers and international Reinsurers, and by analysing and presenting offers from Insurers and Reinsurers. Being independent enables us to establish stable relationships with clients and market players through honest, informative and transparent communications, unbiased judgements, and constantly adopting a strong stance when defending our clients’ interests.
