SHARING RELIABLE INFORMATION

Currently the Kenya forest cover is below 1.7%, which is far much below the internationally recommended 10%

The Government has a target of planting over 7 billion trees by 2030

The Trees for Life Program

The Government is putting a lot of effort in tree planting, but the target can only be achieved if other players are involved

The aim of the Trees for Life Program is to produce tree seedlings and manpower for this purpose

1. Involve the community, especially the Youth, in tree planting (Kazi Kwa Vijana)

2. Establish tree nurseries

3. Involve schools through the Eco-Schools program (Environment Club)

4. Create income and add value to the community

5. Expand or establish a school computer lab

6. Introduce Greenhouse agri-business

7. Create a micro-climate
