l Unusual yet beautiful, the trombone is a common favourite in orchestras and marching bands.

l It was invented during the period of Renaissance.

l There are three types of trombones; alto, tenor and bass.

l The trombone has a slide called a valve which is slid to seven basic positions to create notes.

l The player has to blow through the mouthpiece and slide the valve, and sounds are blown out of the bell at the end of the horn.

l The original name of the trombone is sackbut.

Of all the underwater creatures, there is none more lovely and beautiful than The Little Mermaid. Better than ever, Walt Disney has brought her back through a fantastic animated movie.

The Little Mermaid, or Ariel, starts the tale as a Mermaid Princess who likes to collect human objects in the sea. Then one day, during a storm, she saves a human Prince who got thrown off his ship. Soon, she falls in love with Prince Eric and wish to live with him on land. The evil Sea Witch Ursula grants

Hey guys, let us create something interesting yet easy. Here is how you can create your very own colourful bowl made from buttons, a bit of glue, and a balloon

You will need• Multi coloured buttons• Stationary glue• Balloons• A pair of gloves• Pump (for blowing up the bal-

loon)• A pair of art scissors

Instructions1. Take one balloon and blow it up

using a pump, if you are having a hard time get an adult to help you.

2. Apply glue to each button and carefully place them on the bal-loon, making sure there are no gaps between them.

3. Allow the glue to settle and when you are sure that they will stick, simply pop the balloon, and there you have your very own, colourful bowl.

4. After the balloon has popped, use the pair of scissors to smoothen out the edges.

buttonEd bowL for your goodiEs

If you need a study break or just a fun time experimenting, we’ll show you how to put a spin to your eggs and enjoy a few laughs.

You will need• Four raw eggs• Pot• Bowl

How to1. Boil two eggs in water for about

ten minutes until they are hard-boiled.

2. Next, cool the eggs in water and chill them in the refrigerator

3. Dip a few raw eggs into a bowl with the already chilled and boiled

ones. Sort out the cooked eggs from the raw ones by spinning each egg on its side one at a time! Let the egg spin for a second, then stop it and imme-diately let it go.

4. You will notice the raw eggs will start to spin but the cooked ones wont.

ExplanationAs the liquid yolk and egg whites are inside, the raw egg starts to spin again. Even when you stop the egg from spinning around, the liquid inside keeps turning because it is detached from the shell.

Back in 2008 my friend called me up saying she found a tiny kitten and she wants me to have it. She came over to my place carrying a shopping bag; mewing and scratching sounds were coming out of the bag. When my friend placed the bag on the ground a shivering little kitten crawled out of it, mewing at the top of its lungs; I chose to adopt her instantly. My mother wasn't very pleased upon seeing the kitten and neither was my father, in fact they were very angry with me for keeping the kitten. The first few days were difficult because she cried all night, and refused to use a sand box. I did feel like returning her to my friend, but her helplessness and goofy antics made me want to care for her even more. On the other hand, my parents continued to discourage my mission to give this cat a space amongst us. But as months passed, both my parents warmed up to the kitten, which led to naming her "Billu" and soon she was officially a part of our little family. The dirty kitten which made its way to my house in a shopping bag, now held a

space in our hearts. My parents and Billu are now

inseparable; especially my mother. She cooks for her, talks to her and even puts her to bed. Every time she wanders out into the roads by herself and not return home, my mother and I get really worried. Sometimes she jumps on my mother and clings to her sari when she's about to go somewhere. Billu is also loved by the people in our neighbourhood! The darwans and drivers from next door would tell us that they've never met such a friendly cat in their life. She likes sleeping on my brothers table, on top of my wardrobe and at times on top of my grandmother's closet. When I'm on my way to class, she follows me till the Masjid in our neighbourhood, crying till I stop, turn around and take her home. When I look back, I'm glad that I didn't give her up to someone else, because I know for a fact that no one would take care of her the way my family did. Billu is five years old and is as playful as she was when she came to us as a kitten.
