Learn to design and decorate your own Christmas stationery using paper marbling techniques and create your own ceramic gift tags using clay with copper oxide which will be kiln fi red. Experiment with cutting, folding, colour, pattern and handmade envelopes for your unique Christmas cards and notes that your family and friends will love to receive!

Glass Mosaic – Christmas Snowfl akeNatalie Zuchetti

Ages 8 to 16

This hands-on workshop teaches you how to create your own Christmas-inspired mosaic. Develop a design based on a star or snowfl ake using a 35cm square panel. Learn how to use glass mosaic tools along with advanced mosaic techniques to create your mosaic suitable for indoor or external use. In this intensive workshop you will also learn design/art elements to extend your mosaic further.

Make your own snuggly Quillow. The Quillow looks like a pillow then when you want to you can unfold the quilt which is tucked inside and you have a warm snuggly quilt. When you have fi nished fold it up into the pillow and it is a neat item to stay on your bed or couch.

TRESILLIAN ARTS CENTRE

PEOPLE’S CHOICE WINNER ANNOUNCED Congratulations to artist Monica Pixley who was awarded the People’s Choice Award for her artwork Flowers in the Mist which acquired the most votes during the Tresillian Student and Tutor Exhibition in July.

Hundreds of enthusiastic art lovers visited the Tresillian during the week-long annual exhibition.

The award winning piece is an acrylic painting of fl owers, inspired by Monica’s passion for nature, colours, and abstract art.

Monica said that winning the award has encouraged her to continue painting.

Monica is a weekly student at the night class ‘Creating with Multiple Media’ with tutor Caroline Marinovich, and the second student to win the prize from the class in consecutive years.

‘I look forward to the weekly night classes, I believe that painting together is important because you feed-off each other. Night classes are great for meeting like-minded artists and Caroline is a wonderful teacher, she lets you go in whatever direction you choose.’

This year’s $500 award was proudly sponsored by Captain Stirling IGA, Nedlands.

Payment may be made as follows:

• Due to popularity of courses, places cannot be held without payment.

• An enrolled student cannot have another individual attend a class in their absence.

• Students may only attend the day and time of the class they are enrolled in.

• Swapping of classes is not permitted.

• Participants in the term courses, full day and weekend workshops must be over 18 years of age.

• No children are to accompany an adult to classes.

• Classes without the minimum number of participants by Thursday 6 October 2016 will be cancelled.

• Most courses require additional materials to be purchased by the student.

• A 20% administration fee applies to cancellations made prior to the beginning of term.

• No refund will be given once term has commenced.

• Classes are not held on Public Holidays.

• A full refund will only be given if a course is cancelled by the Tresillian Arts Centre.

• A refund will only be given if you have a medical certifi cate for the dates you have missed.
