Remus to hold FallFestival in October

EMUS As an agriculturalommunity, it seems surprising Remusas not held a fall festival celebratinghe harvest season. Now, for the firstime ever, the Remus Area Historicalociety and the Remus Downtownevelopment Association will hold aay filled with fall activities to celebratehe changing seasons, harvest andhe heritage of the area.From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 15, theestival will resemble an expandedarmers market in downtown Remus,aid society Secretary Char Lenon.

It will be a way for residents to drawttention to the Remus history and

ome together as a community.We just wanted to get peoplenterested in the museum and I thinkhey are getting that way, Lenon said.(It will) promote the town to workogether. We never really mergedroups together so the DDA anduseum are working together to havefamily event for the townspeople.

o help showcase the heritage of theown, former Remus resident Maryatchelder will display a project sheas been working on, documentingarns in the area. As the landscapehanges, Batchelder wanted toreserve what she sees as theoundation of the area.

FEST- Please join us on Sunday, October 2 starting at 12:30 p.m.

It will be held in the fellowship hall of the Evart Free Methodist

Church. The church is located on the west side of the Osceola

County Fairgrounds at 6151 95th Ave in Evart. Use the entrance of

the west side of the building. Bring a dish for the potluck meal and
