Message from the Guidance Counselor Mr. Steve Appleby

Tips for Students & Parents:

Colleges today are looking for a well-rounded student who is able to multi-task. It is not enough to just do well in class or have a 4.0, an-ymore. Colleges are looking for something that sets you apart from everyone else. They want to know are you involved in sports, music, church, community or do you just sit at home, playing games and texting. Be on time and have your work prepared when it is due. Em-ployers want people who are reliable and on time. It all starts here and it does look good when you have little to no absences and tardies. Start planning for college early and prepare to sit the entrance exams often. Triple C does offer both the SAT and ACT test, twice a year. If you have any questions concerning preparing for college or for your college application, please come visit me in my office.

Parents and Guardians, I greet you with Jesus joy. We have only one quarter left in this school year. To date, we have witnessed many academic and extra-curricular accomplishments among our stu-dent body. Moreover, we are continuing to make great strides as we seek to employ master's degree teachers to enhance and expand our curriculum to remain globally competitive in alignment with our accreditation standards. Likewise, we are also striving to awaken and to disciple the spiritual lives of our students. Mr. Carlson Benjamin, one of our Bible teachers, has been appointed Spiritual Life Direc-tor to spearhead Chapel services and to provide student coun-seling. As we celebrate this season of Lent, looking forward to Easter, Calvary's cross, and the resurrection of our Savior allow me to share the lyrics of one of my favorite hymns that gives me hope from day to day.

"Because He Lives" God sent His son, they called Him Jesus

He came to love, heal and forgive. He lived and died to buy my pardon,

an empty grave is there to prove my savior lives.

Because He lives

I can face tomorrow Because He lives All fear is gone

Because I know who holds the future and life is worth the living just

because He lives.

Message from our Bible Teacher Mr. Carlson Benjamin

I am constantly reminded of Jesus' departing words

in Matthew 28:19, where He uttered a specific com-

mand to His followers. He said, "Go ye therefore,

and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of

the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." We were com-

missioned to go, teach, and baptize, but that is not all. He makes us

a promise in the following verse when He said, "....And surely I

am with you always, to the very end of the age" Matthew 28:20b.

Personally, there is a deep sense of joy, peace and fulfillment that

floods my heart, knowing that I am involved in building God's

kingdom.

As Christians, and Christian Educators by extension, love is the

fuel that energizes us. When Jesus was asked what the greatest

command is, His response was "Love the Lord your God with all

your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is

the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it:

Love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22: 37-38). Our love

for God and love for others compel us to keep going even in the

face of challenges. Love is the reason why we do what we do.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his

Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.” ~ John 3:16-17

Miss Pearl Rattary Kindergarten Teacher

Miss Rattary holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the Uni-versity of the West Indies. She has been serving as an early childhood education teacher for the past thirty-three years.

Prior to coming to Cayman, Miss Rattary served as a junior lecturer and teacher

trainer at the Church Teachers’ College in Jamaica. This is Miss Rattary’s eighth

year at Triple C School.

Miss Shereen Williams Kindergarten Teacher

Miss Williams is from Jamaica and holds a Bachelor's degree in Primary Education from Northern Caribbean University. Prior to coming to Cay-man, Miss Williams taught in Early Childhood and Primary in Jamaica.

Miss Williams has been teaching for 2 1/2 years including one year at Tri-

ple C School.

The Early Childhood Department continues to advance the children not only in academics but also in their emo-tional, social, and physical development. Each class puts forth innovative and creative ideas in an effort to aid in the holistic development of each child.

Kindergarten: The kindergarten students recently participated in the annual Field Day on January 30th. It was a great time of sports, fun and excitement for the entire family. Parents, friends, and family members cheered on their little ones as they showcased their physical skills in non-competitive activities. Culture Day, which was held on February 27 th was another big event for Kindergarteners. Culture Day gave us a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the cultural diversity in our classes and by extension, our school. The classes celebrated by highlighting various cultural icons, displaying cultural craft items, and by doing a flag and dress parade. We sang and danced to music from different cultural groups and ate delectable treats from the countries represented. Culture Day was really fun and this will now be an annual event on our school calendar. Kindergarteners will continue to develop their sensory and comprehension skills as they compare and con-trast objects and situations using appropriate descriptive words. They will continue to do projects and build on skills such as word identification, blending and segmenting phonemes, using oral language, reading with fluency, interpreting mood of character, determining author’s purpose, finding main ideas, and do independent writing. The kindergarten students are now working with numbers 11-30 showing their tens and ones combina-tions. They will then move on to work with money, calendar and measurement applying such concepts as “more”, “most”, “less”, “fewer”, “least”, “greater”, “before”, “after”, “addition”, and “subtraction”.

Mrs. Sonia Gordon Math Teacher (High School)

Mrs. Gordon holds a Master’s degree in Education (Teaching Mathematics Grades 9-12), a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies, a diploma in the Teaching of Mathe-matics from Sam Sharpe Teachers College. She has been teaching for

18 years including eight years at Tri-ple C School.

Mrs. Melanie Miggins Math Teacher (Middle & High School) Mrs. Miggins, from St. Maarten, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mathemat-

ics Education and a Master’s Degree in Education (specialization: Mathemat-ics). She has been teaching for 5 years

including three years at Triple C School.

Mr. Zachary Dambro Math Teacher (Middle School)

Mr. Dambro hails from the United States and has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the Uni-versity of Wyoming and a certificate of Youth Ministry from the Kanakuk Institute. He has been teaching for 9 years; this is his second year at Tri-

ple C School.

Teachers in the department are happy to be working in classrooms outfitted with current technology to make

learning Math more interesting for students. Students had fun celebrating a significant Pi day this year designing

t-shirts and doing Pi related activities and enjoying awesome tasting pies. We are looking forward to our Math

field trips to see Math in our environment when we return for 4th Quarter.
