Hello Roses & Friends!

I hope you are all happy and healthy!

We had a wonderful August ride to the Wertz Ice Cream Cone in Wernersville. Thanks to Kathy M for the great time. The weather was lovely. In addition, we had three Keystone Riders join us on the ride. I really enjoyed asking them about where they ride and how the club is — and it’s always fun to hang out with other riders.

I finally got to go on a motorcycle trip to one of the states I had not yet been to — Rhode Island. We left early on a Thursday and we were not even to Reading yet when something came flying off my friend’s bike. We pulled over and she walked back to retrieve it.

About an hour later, my e-z pass hit my foot and bounced off to the side of the road. Unfortunately, we were on a highway in New Jersey and there was no way I was going to try to find it.

We were just about into Rhode Island, when her kickstand puck flew back towards me.

I honestly can not make this stuff up!

Rhode Island not only checked a state off my list, but turned out to be a beautiful ride. The people were friendly, the seafood was delicious and the back roads were delightful. And nothing else fell off our bikes! Next up…The Ride for HOPE. Please make sure everybody you know is aware of it. 2, 3, and 4 wheels welcome. There will be some nice prizes up for raffle this year! Unfortunately, our food truck vendor had a major fire in their kitchen and won’t be able to attend, so we will be providing food again. And don’t forget…even people who don’t ride can donate for this good cause! See you soon! Stay safe and healthy!

TRLR “2nd Sunday Ride” August 8, 2021

by Kathy M

I was feeling good about the August ride to the Plum Creek Creamery that I was leading. Phone was charged, the route was planned and practiced. I even made sure the Creamery’s dining room was open without Covid restrictions. Up early and enjoying coffee, I checked my text messages.

OMG!!!, there was a text message asking if I knew that the Creamery was not open on Sundays. I was mortified that, despite my planning, I forgot to check if they were open on Sunday. I quickly responded to Natalie, that we should continue to meet at the Creamery in case others would join us there. Met Natalie and Lynn at the first meet-up spot and off we went to the Creamery. Both Natalie and Lynn were so supportive and helped me get over my embarrassment. How nice to be part of a group of supportive women.

At the Creamery, we met up with three Keystone Chapter members and decided to go to the Wertz Ice Cream Cone, Wenersville. Lynn led the way and we enjoyed our ice cream and getting to know the Keystone folks a little better. We did talk about the possibility of doing more rides together and caravanning to next year’s WOW® Ride-In™.

All-in-all it was a great day!

from Lynn

It was a small but mighty Twin Rose chapter ride. Thanks for FOOing Kathy — and remember, it’s never an official TRLR ride until you make a U-turn or put your contingency plan into effect! We need to plan Plum Creek Creamery for another day — except Sunday.

And look who we found along the way… some Keystone WOW riders — Julianne, Shawn and Robyn.

Fun ride!!

Hungry for ice cream, Lynn, Kathy M, and Nat hit the road on a pretty day.

They even took the time to send a fun Get Well Soon video to Sue S.

LOL. Love that background!

Lynn is quick with the camera when out on her Spyder! Where did she spot these signs?

Our chapter Zoom get-togethers when necessary are always a blast. The August Ride For HOPE Planning Meeting even included Nancy on her boat and Melissa tuning in from the other coast! Lynn had us fooled (for a minute) into thinking she was camping in Chincoteague with her backdrop of ponies. Event Chair Paws reported that lots of great raffle items and donations are rolling in.
