    Up Travel

I Valves are fully adjusted at the factory. Check electrical operation before changing valve setting.

II For checking operation of the solenoids, remove the top nuts. By lifting the solenoids a few millimeters the magneticpull of the solenoid can be felt as well as the operation of the elevator car.

    Problem Possible cause Recommended

    1) Solenoid A not energised or voltage too low.

    2) Solenoid A tube not screwed down tight.3) Solenoid valve A dirt between needle and

    seat.

See note II at top of page.

Turn adjustment 5 all the way in.If the elevator now starts upwards the problem isat solenoid A.

No Up-Start 4) Orifice in bypass valve blocked. Change bypass valve at U.

(Elevator5) Adjustment 1 is too far back (not enough

pilot pressure, minimum 5 bar) or bypassflow guide too large (slots too wide).

With the pump running, turn adjustment 1 in, orif already too far, insert smaller bypass flow guide(see diagram literature EV).

remains 6) Relief valve set too low. Set higher

at floor)7) Down valve 7 or 9 is open due to

contamination in its orifice.(Especially if the elevator settles back on thebuffers after pump is stopped).

Replace down valves 7 (KV2 only) and 9.

    8) Pump running in the wrong direction. If by turning adjustment 1 with the pump running

    9) The pump is undersize or worn. the pressure does not rise above 5 bar, even10) The pump connection flange is leaking

excessively.with a smaller bypass valve inserted, the problemshould be sought under 8), 9) or 10).

    11) See 7), 9) and 10) above. ---Up Startbut no

    12) Solenoid C not energised or voltage too low. See note II at top of page. Turn restriction 3 allthe way in. If the elevator now travels with full

Full Speed 13) Dirt in solenoid C or solenoid tube not pulledup tight.

speed, the cause is 12) or 13).

    14) Adjustment 1 turned in too far. Open adjustment 1.15) Bypass flow guide U too small (slots too

narrow). See also 32) below.Change to flow guide with wider slots.

Up Start 16) Star to delta motor switch period is too long. 0,2 - 0,3 secs. is sufficient.

too hard 17) UO O-ring on the bypass valve U is leaking. Change O-ring.18) Excessive friction on the guide rails or in thecylinder head.

Can not be eliminated through valve adjustment.

Elevator slows 28) Solenoid A (Up stop) is de-energised toolate.

See note II at top of page.

down but travels 29) Adjustment 5 (Soft Stop) not far enoughopen.

    Open further out.

floor level.30) Adjustment 1 Bypass not far enough open

and pump flow does not completely by-pass.Open adjustment 1 two turns further out.

    Relief-Valve notadjustable tolower value.

    31) Adjustment 1 too far in.32) pipe thread connection in return line T

    should not exceed 14 mm.

Open adjustment 1 further out. With tape threads, 4 6 threads of engagementis sufficient.

    Problem Possible cause Recommended

No Down Start51) Solenoid D not energised or voltage too low. See note II at top of page 1.

(Elevator remains 52) Adjustment 6 not open enough. Open 6 further out.

at floor) 53) O-ring XO on down valve, leaking. Replace.

KV2 only: 54) Solenoid C not energised or voltage too low. See note II at top of page 1.Down startbut no full speed

    55) Adjustment 7 (Full speed down) not farenough open.

    Open 7 further.

    KV2 only:Down full speed

    56) Solenoid D not energised (possiblysolenoids C and D reversed).

See note II at top of page 1.

    but noDown leveling

    57) Adjustment 9 (Down Leveling speed)not far enough open.

    Open 9 further out.

    Elevator travels

    58) Down flow guide too small (slots too narrow). Change flow guide.

through the59) Down Leveling speed 9 too fast. Adjust to between 6 and 10 cm/sec.

    60) Solenoid Valve C leaking at needle. Clean or change needle and seat.

lower floor. 61) Orifice in flow guide contaminated. Replace flow guide.

    62) Leak at DN, XO, VO, WO or HO.With KVH valve, HN instead of DN.

    Replace and test in sequence.

    Leakage(Elevator sinks

    63) Other valve or handpump in system leaking. Where possible, isolate and check.

away from floor). 64) Contraction of oil during cooling especiallyfrom above 35C.

Consider oil cooler to keep oil temperaturesdown.
