In the next decade, the ambiance of theaters, arenas, museums, sound stages and other venues is poised to change in excitingways: new platforms are an integrated part of the structure’s architecture. A new digital theatrical “experience” is born.

MetaZtron Vision (MZTV) transforms any feed to dimensional moving images on curved screens for Z*Rama /Cinerama/Dome Theater clubs. Real time curved backsets, like film used behind actors in the 30’s, allow a new studio of the future.

Digitron technique: places the actor into the projected image, thus creating the long awaited "virtual set", not before possiblebecause the MetaZtron (MZTV) projector wasn’t available that creates in real time dimensional images in space. The virtual set evolves into the long awaited holodeck playpen.

MZTV Patented Architecture Design-- Copycats

http://www.slideshare.net/metatroy/troyer-patent-portfolio-2012http://www.slideshare.net/metatroy/metatroy-blog-nov-2011-june-2011-ztv-patentsThe above sites share the Troyer patent claims, discuss what the claims mean and discuss infringement. The Blogs share patent claim charts and a letter to LIPA (Pete Lude). The different approaches to 3D are discussed. • LIPA laser projector consortium; Many use 2 channel stereo

approach with 3D glasses; Troyer auto dimensional without glasses patented process is KISS (streamlined—1/2 the cost)

• Mobile Projectors/ Pico: no patent to cover basic layout; Light Blue Optics (LBO), HDI, Microvision, AaxaTech, etc.

Page 28: Troyer outline 411

Troyer Patent ClaimsInfringe on the basic Troyer patent claims: Microvision (Intel/Pioneer); Light Blue Optics; IMAX (Barco/Kodak); Sony; RED (HDI); Rockwell Collins (JVC),NEC, Christies--LIPA Consortium claims the way to create laser projectors is full color spectrum lasers (red 635 nm or over) modulated with a reflective light valve (Troyer patented process)

Laser light beams directed to reflective light valve (RLV): DLP, LCoS, MEMS, LED, etc. Red 635 nm or over - full color spectrum.

Sub-claim: Add cyan to RGB (Red/Green/Blue): less speckle; http://www.display-central.com/lle-provides-details-speckle-new-products/

“Secret Sauce” Sony states extended green eliminates speckleCyan (blue/green) with 635 nm. red or above.

Page 29: Troyer outline 411

Basic Mandate for Laser Images The right optic path is needed to have best 3D and/or auto dimensional images. The attributes of the laser beams have to be kept to the screen. • Retain coherence, collimation, polarization in

laser beams to screen• IF IT IS: infinite focus, instant transformation;

innate sharpness • Automatically focuses on irregular surfaces;

Dome, curved screen, etc. • More Eye Safe: Expanded Laser Beam

reflected off light valve -not direct laser beam

Page 30: Troyer outline 411

IF IT IS Transform Next Display Platforms • Consumers for their Smart TV and home theater

• Digital Cinema audiences• Military/ government • Simulation/ Command & Control/ Situation

Awareness • Dome/ CAVE/HIVE immersive training• Signage: innovative Z depth focus (real time curves)• Opera/ Broadway/ music tour, staging and backsets

for performance/ content productions• Telecine: post house and consumer copying film,

slides, video, — any feed• Real time amplification of camera captured “event”

Page 31: Troyer outline 411

Medical & Scientific Imaging• Ability to see captured dimensional camera images

(endoscopic/ MIR/ etc.) not distorted on flat screens.

• Images viewed as captured with true contrast, resolution, color ranges, and dimensional depth.

• Always in focus— MRI slices merged in real time for dimensional images vivid images.

• Scientific/ Instrumentation/ Microscopic/-- finally can see the dimensional images as captured –not two eye microscope or flat screen distortion.

TechCrunch: James Cameron Interview TechCrunch: Is the future of 3D about the movies or TV?

Cameron: The future of 3D will be defined by TV. The reason for that is it’s going to solve this whole conversion issue. Because the 3D production cycle for TV is so short. You don’t have time to do a conversion. It just doesn’t exist. It’s just not part of the vocabulary. So, the tools for shooting it, posting it, delivering it, displaying it, are all going to be proven in the TV markets and then movie guys are just going to have to get in line with it.

TechCrunch: What do you think about the state of 3D TV’s?

Cameron: Mid level big flat panels are 3D now. — It’s really not that big a deal anymore. So, I think where it’s ultimately got to end, is glasses free viewing in the home, on the big screen

Page 37: Troyer outline 411

Troyer Basic Patented Design • Answer to the next laser projector display. • Streamlined and less expensive (KISS) • Troyer’s team has accomplished much, even with severe

interference from competitors and not sufficient funding.• Many companies have nothing to show after spending 100’s

of millions; This is because they started from the wrong premise – the wrong architecture—the wrong basic designs.

• They did not have the luxury and gift of being able to study almost 10 years of TRW R&D with laser projection – with the help of the Air Force for War Room Command & Control. They did not have the chance of hands on upgrades to see best image. They did not have 8 TRW war room laser projectors to cannibalize to go down a different design path and create an even better open architecture design.

Page 38: Troyer outline 411

How Does Troyer Understand Laser Projectors?• Troyer designed meta-mix venue (Iowa City) performance, back set, TV studio club• Troyer education: TV production, Film production, Multi-media, Inter Media• Graduate writer’s workshop (Kurt Vonnegut teacher).• Many productions (feature, public TV, commercials, documentaries). • Grand Daddy’s / Rosebud studios were probably first TV studio club world wide.• Public TV Tween show (Cornucopia), Star talent search show, Other TV shows.• One of first music video clips –example for MTV – Fabulous Thunderbirds• Troyer was hired to design studio and staging for Hollywood Palladium.• Goal: design the next step back staging for performance and TV studio venue. • Realistic images-- Wish List: Full color, high resolution, high contrast.• Ability to adjust to curve, dimensional images. • Troyer reviewed projectors on the market and in the labs.• No projector could provide realistic backsets, but the GE Telaria had good colors. • Troyer discovered the TRW laser projector for war rooms command &control. • She arranged a TRW demonstration at a lab in Silicon Valley. Troyer discovered

laser infinite focus by moving and curving a white paper in front of the TRW laser projector lens, the images always in focus. Troyer was never the same again, because she knew instantly that infinite focus was the solution for curved backsets and Cinerama screens – and the key to auto dimensional images in curved space.

Page 39: Troyer outline 411

Troyer: Laser Projection RepresentativeTroyer Represented TRW Laser Projector to the Hollywood StudiosTroyer designed for Paramount TV show based on always in focus sets. Al Mirabella (Disney Imagineering) supported introduction to studio theme parks.TRW contract was over and the projectors were mothballed right before Desert Storm. (No room for laser battery backup war rooms -6 floors underground)—SAC, MAC, NORAD. Troyer purchased the 8 projectors at auction. TRW provided boxes of studies, R&D and drawings.Took laser projectors to Los Angeles from Omaha. Hands on experience/ doing many upgrades/ Great feed back and suggestions from studio experts at demonstrations.

TRW War Room Command & Control Laser ProjectorOnly laser projector that has been successfully launched: Ran 24/7 for 3 years; 97% up time. Over $500 million invested in R&D. Sold for $340,000 each.TRW used flat screens. TRW did not use the infinite focus aspect ( found it a distraction). Not eye safe -- delivered the laser beams directly out of the lens (flying laser scan). TRW design was not optically efficient. More than 40 optics in the optic train.

MetaZtron Vision Patented Process Overcomes These TRW DefectsMZTV is much brighter: Streamlined the optic path to 10 from TRW’s 40 optics in the train.Solid state lasers instead of gas; Changed modulation method from Acoustic to reflective light valve. Troyer patent (2001): modulation with reflective light valve (RLV); Laser images eye safe with RLV. Created a larger color spectrum by using deeper nanometer red (over 635 nm,)

Page 40: Troyer outline 411

CAVE DREAMShow natural realistic visuals in curved space.

ESTIMATED WORTH Licensing, Assignment, Strategic Partners

Evaluators Assess Z*TV Patents as STRONG”Demonstration models show ‘Proof of Concept’

If the business model is handled correctly and the patents are carefully monitored for infringement, a great deal of income canbe received from strategic partner licensing and building newcompanies and sub-companies.

NOTE: Industry is frustrated: there are no laser projectors on themarket (Evans & Sutherland laser projector mothballed – was not bright and did not have infinite focus). Many companies haveplaced hundreds of millions into development of laser displays and have failed.

Thus, the Industry is waiting in anticipation for the discovery of the design that delivers the long sought solution.

Page 44: Troyer outline 411

Many Companies are Working On Laser Projectors(Kodak Demonstrated Laser Projector that follows Troyer patents)• IMAX is now working with Barco – stating they have patents for domes

from licensing the Kodak patents. • Those groups planning to use a laser light flood have problems: no heat

mitigation; ghosting artifacts in fast moving images; lessons the contrast (good blacks); not control over even light distribution and artifacts.

• Sony is demonstrating a LCoS laser projector. • Samsung, Mitsubishi, Toshiba and many others are in R&D. • The question now in the industry is who will deliver? • Companies license MetaZtron (proven as the laser projector solution).• MetaZtron Vision has open architecture patents on the whole projector. • All reflective light valves are included: DLP, LCOS, LED, MEMS, etc. • Licensors receive best laser projector design based on light valve device. • Develop the licensing and lease model with landscape that exists.

COMPONENT DESIGN ON TRACK• Smart TV streams video --- MetaZtron curved screen dimensional display. • Small laser projector head• Z*Kit computer engine server/ evolved blue ray/ set top box.• Many are working on boxes, chips, boards, servers, storage/image

enhancements. • Streamlined: we chose our off the shelf parts.• Adjusted IF IT IS: 3D chip to transfer 3D stereo content for infinite focus.• NVidia offered support as well as others for the honing of the chip. • Streamline virtual labs with expert support building MetaZtron models.• Cookie cutter stacked parts (small or larger) same design and material.• MetaZtron models fall under this umbrella except Pico (miniature world). • Troyer patented process: when exploring with Symbol technicians --

found new way to approach Pico-- much brighter.• No one has approached the Pico this way -- far better dimensional image.

THIS HAS BEEN A BOOTSTRAPPED PROJECT It is time to work with the best strategic partners and bring in the MetaZtron models

• Intel was developing a LCOS reflective light valve display in 2004. An Intel VP contacted Troyer about the patented approach with lasers. Intel engineers explored MZTV infinite focus architecture to enhance and simplify the Intel design. The Intel CEO decided the lasers were not mature at that point and dropped the 100 million dollar display project. Many were waiting for the Intel display and Intel stock fell. The world market is still waiting for such a display. Finally the lasers are mature.

From: Sofia, Bob [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, February 05, XXX 9:55 AMTo: Diane TroyerSubject: Laser Projectors

Diane,It was a pleasure talking to you yesterday. I am very happy to hear that the production of your Laser Projector is progressing. I greatly appreciate your keeping me in the know. The sooner you can go into production, the sooner I can lease your projectors. Then I can start taking advantage of your projectors capabilities to solve some of my production problems, and give our creative minds a new tool to work with to create new vistas. On a recent remote production at SeaWorld in Orlando with Wheel of Fortune, a laser projector would have been the perfect tool to use to project on two air balloons that we used on the set, as well as onto the two fountains in the background. The solution we came up with was less then ideal, and far more money then I wanted to spend. When dealing with the Art Department and our technicians, there were many times I wished I had the laser technology available to me. I look forward to hearing from you soon, with the good news that I can start renting your laser projectors.

Best of Luck, Bob SofiaCoordinating Producer; Technical Supervisor --Wheel of Fortune/Jeopardy!(310) 244-5946; off. (310) 729-6001; cell. (310) 244-0325
