From ourVision Team

Sometimes there are times whenwe find it difficult to pray. Ourlives are filled with daily trials andcircumstances that demand muchof our time. In reality, prayer isexactly what we need in order toredeem our time wisely. It is only

when we pray first that we can actually accomplish greatthings for God, and we receive the strength andencouragement we need to remain confident in our walk

with Him.

The apostle Paul says, "And pray in the Spirit on alloccasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With

this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for athe Lord's people" (Eph. 6:18 NIV). Remember andmeditate on these words as you pray for the Vision Tethis week. The discernment process is concluding, anprayer is still of the utmost importance. Pray for eachmember individually, and pray that the entire church bwill be one in spirit.

I for one will be praying for complete unity in our churcand that we will become more effective in our communwith spreading the gospel. In the words of John Wesle"I continue to dream and pray about a revival of holinein our day that moves forth in mission and creates au-

thentic community in which each person can be un-leashed through the empowerment of the Spirit to fulfiGod's creational intentions" (John Wesley, How To PrThe Best of John Wesley on Prayer ).

Thank you for your prayers; remember to pray for youselves as well. Change isn't always easy or welcomedbut when we submit ourselves to the will of God and sthy will and not my will be done, then God will move ohearts to the rhythm of His plan. There is no better plato be then in the presence of the throne of the grace oGod.

Sonday Summer Seekers

You may have heard ’ Sonday SummerSeekers’ this summer, and did notknow what it meant. It simply meansChildren’ s Summer Sunday School. We continue to learn and appreciate all

that God has given us. We know thatin the book of Genesis, God created the world. A worldfilled with dirt, rocks, sand, water, seeds, plants and sun.We know that by coming to church and Sunday schoolwe are setting a good foundation as in the “Parable ofThe Sower of Soil. If we live like the sunflowers andfollow the sun or Son, in our case, we will grow and bestrengthened. Our seeds of faith are set with good soiland solid roots. Remember, children attend worship withtheir family and are dismissed from there to meet aChildren’s Ministry adult, waiting for them near the backpew. All children preschool age thru 5th grade arewelcome to attend.

FAITH PROMISEUPDATE

Do you wonder what the term “FaithPromise” means? It is the term usedfor ESUMC’s Mission outreach of thentire congregation. There are quite

few groups and individuals as UMW, Covenant groups, VBand Sunday School classes who support certainorganizations at different times through the year. However,

Faith Promise donates funds through the year to ten or tweorganizations committed to serving specific needs of theircommunity as an outreach of God’s love.

None of these funds are from the Church Budget. They arevoluntary contributions from you,the congregation. Thetreasurer keeps a separate fund and quarterly sends theportion promised to our Partner. The term Faith Promise ishow the team fulfills its task. By Faith, various possibilities aconsidered for support. By Faith, a budget is considered thawill be met. In faith, we all join in prayer and financial suppoThanks be to God that for the last few years the contributioto Faith Promise have fulfilled the promises made to ourPartners.

The Budget for 2015 is $30,000 and the yearly support forPartners ranges from $1000 to $5000. Family Promise, theorganization of Monroe County serving a parent (and parenwith children who are homeless receives $5000. Otherchurches share in the support financially and as hostchurches. Most of our other Partners receive $2000.

Today, or anytime, you may help support Family Promise.Envelopes in the Bulletin may be used today, the regularweekly envelopes have a line for Missions, or any other notcontribution may be given. Each Partner is committed toserve through their desire to be guided by their faith in GodThank God for the opportunities we have to share God ’s lo

and compassion through these Partners.

Dedication of Benches on July 21, 2015

On Tuesday evening, July 21, the three benches picturedabove located in the garden area of the church were dedicatedwith a few raindrops coming down. The three benches werenstalled several months ago in honor and memory of three

dedicated members of ESUMC: from left to right, Jeff Warner, rene Paciotti, and Bill Zacharias. Many of their familymembers and friends attended the fifteen minute dedicationservice led by Pastor Todd. Each bench was anointed with oilas hands were laid on themby family members. Whilerefreshments were beingenjoyed afterwards, the suncame out and a rainbow ap-peared in the eastern skyover the church. Connie Mo-yer took the photo at right ofthe rainbow seeming totouch the cross at the top of

our tower!
