DESCRIPTION

Trust is an essential component of a successful team. Teams with participants who trust each other's decisions and actions can work faster to accomplish goals, whereas teams whose members do not trust each other will waste time discussing next steps and micromanaging each others' ideas. Team members who trust each other have nothing to fear from healthy conflict and challenge, which reduces the likelihood that people will agree to an idea just because they are afraid of the consequences if they disagree. It takes time to build trust in a team, so what may start as a weakness can become a strength over time.

4 Cs of TrustCommitment:For example, a team member who has to take an extended amount of sick leave should be willing to do as much work as possible from homeCompetence: For example, each team member should be able to focus on an assigned task without worrying about teammates following through with their assigned tasksCommunication:For instance, if a team member finishes a task early, he should communicate to his teammates that he is finished and ask if he can help another team member with her part of the work. If one team member discovers vital information that is relevant to the team's success, such as a deadline change or a lack of resources, she should communicate it to the other members as soon as possibleCollaboration:When team members collaborate, they share creative ideas without fear that another team member will take credit for their ideas5How to Build Trust? How to Build Trust(Contd)Empathy
