Some changes are being made this year for our Fall

Harvest Dinner. The biggest change is that it is being held

at St Maximilian Kolbe Church. We took into

consideration many opinions and concerns and felt it was

in everyone’s best interest. In doing this and to

accommodate for space and make things more

economical, we also simplified our menu and pricing. This

will allow more people to come and enjoy the dinner, bake

sale, bucket raffle and silent auction.

MENU: Chicken, baked beans, coleslaw and roll, OR

Spaghetti, tossed salad with dressing and garlic bread.

Pickles, cake, bars, milk and coffee will still be on the

table. Prices are adults $7.00 for either meal and children

6-12 $4.00. Kids 5 and under are free.

PLEASE DONATE YOUR PIES TO THE COUNTRY

STORE. The Country Store and Bake Sale is in need

of: Cookies, Bars, Breads, Pies, Canned Goods, Jams,

Jellies, crafts, and/or garden vegetables.

Each family is asked to donate the following items based

on the first letter of your last name.

A – J PARMESAN CHEESE

K – Q ½ GALLON 2% MILK

R – Z 1 STICK OF BUTTER

If you would like to help out more with food donations,

please see the extra sign up in the gathering space for

specific items needed to help defray expenses. For

questions, please contact Mary at 715-340-7217 or

Pat at 715-366-2576. Thank you.

Dear Loving Parishioners,

Love and Peace of Christ!

This Sunday Jesus gives us a warning, pointing to the

destiny of the rich man who neglected his duty to show

mercy to poor Lazarus. The rich man was punished,

not for having riches, but for neglecting the Scriptures

and what they taught on sharing his blessings with the

poor.

Life messages: 1) God has blessed each one of us with

wealth or health or special talents or social power or

political influence or a combination of many blessings.

The parable invites us to share what we have been

given with others in various ways instead of using

everything exclusively for selfish gains.

2) We need to remember that sharing is the criterion of

Last Judgment: Matthew (25:31ff) tells us that all six

questions to be asked of each one of us by Jesus when

He comes in glory as our judge are based on how we

have shared our blessings from him (food, drink, home,

mercy and compassion), in our brothers and sisters,

anyone in need.

3) We need to treat the unborn as our brother/sister

Lazarus. Lazarus in the 21st century is also our pre-

born brother and sister. Many of these babies are

brutally executed in their mother’s wombs. Their cries

for a chance to live are rejected 4400 times a day in our

country. The rich man was condemned for not treating

Lazarus as his brother. We also will be condemned for

our selfishness if we do not treat the preborn as our

brothers and sisters.

God bless you,

Fr. Peter

fall harvest dinner. Popular themes include, Legos for

The fundraising campaign is underway! Funds are needed

before breaking ground in spring 2020. All parish families

should have received a letter and a pledge form with

construction and financial information from Fr. Peter and

the committee. Now that the August 31, 2019 deadline has

passed, committee members will be reaching out to those

who have yet to respond for home visits. We look forward to

your generous support of this project!

The fall hunting season is fast approaching and we have

set our dates for the 2019 Bow Hunting for God Retreats in

central Wisconsin. The retreats will take place in the

Hancock/Wautoma area. One of the retreats will be held on

October 25th-27th and one on November 1-3.

The retreats are held on private properties in central

Wisconsin. Hunters are allowed to use either a traditional

compound bow or crossbow. The retreats begin on Friday

evening at 5 pm with a Wisconsin fish fry. Participants then

take time to reflect on a retreat book, which encompasses

on how to see God in our hunting and other outdoor

recreation activities. Most of the retreat books that are used

are based on real life hunting experiences. The retreatants

spend time on Saturday bow hunting while reflecting on our

faith talks and hopefully having a chance to harvest a

deer. We have an outdoor Mass on Saturday evening,

followed by more time in faith experience conversa-

tions. On Sunday morning, we hunt in the morning and

then come back to camp and enjoy brunch before departing

for home. The cost for the retreat is $85 for 1 person or

$140 for a father/son/grandson. These retreats are already

starting to fill up and there is only a limited amount of space

available. If you are interested in attending or would like

more information, please contact Deacon Jim Trzinski at

920-240-1968 or email at [email protected].
