PRESTIGIOUS AWARDThe Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) invites Malaysian youth to participate in the prestigious 22nd Tun Razak Youth Leadership Award (TRYLA) from 12-17 March 2017 at the Outward Bound Malaysia (OBML) in Lumut, Perak.

Inaugurated in 1993, TRYLA is designed to develop emerging Malaysian youth leaders from diverse ethnic backgrounds to inculcate a spirit of unity and harmony, build superior leadership characteristics and provide opportunities to realise their leadership potential and excellence. TRYLA aims to transform the lives of young people and inspire them to make a difference in the community and country. The programme was named after the late Tun Abdul Razak, the second Prime Minister of Malaysia whose profound passion lay in nurturing youth leaders. Continuing his father’s passion, developing youth leadership followed as a focus in the nation building agenda under the remarkable leadership and dedication of the present Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak.

MEANINGFUL COLLABORATIONCollaborating with the renowned Outward Bound Malaysia, Lumut (OBML), TRYLA is set to create a lifetime experience to a select few youth leaders. Established in 1954 and run by Malaysians who share the ideals and commitment to raising capable youth leaders, OBML serve to help organisations improve performance through leadership, team skills, effective communication and trust.

OBML holds a proud history of being one of the oldest centres outside the United Kingdom accredited to train and shape youth leaders through a unique educational experience, which is challenging and demanding but at the same time, steep in its tradition of pursuing leadership excellence. OBML was close to the late Tun Abdul Razak’s heart, too, having served as the President of the Outward Bound Trust Malaysia for 18 years from 1957-1975. It is only befitting that TRYLA came full circle with OBML this year to stretch and refine these youth leaders beyond their mind-limited capabilities and achieve their true potential through programmes held in the wilderness and in the boardroom.
