Operating principle

Electronic configuration: Wheatstone bridge(a measuring instrument).

Used to measure an unknown resistance by balancing two

legs of a bridge circuit.

R  x  is the unknown resistance,

R 1, R 2 and R 3 are

known resistances

Rx = (R2/R1)/R3

WeWr Weigh bridge roomidge room

Converts signals produced by load cell, to digital

representation of weight.

The weigh bridge room contains the PLC and Human

Machine Interface (HMI).

HMI is, operator’s window to start, batch operation of filling

and monitor filling operation.

Unsafe conditions of plant, due to LNG spillage, gas leak or fire, automatically causes ESD TTLF, stop filling operation

and isolates skid from the plant

Make :Scully ( 30 feet coil cable)•It provide intelligent

grounding verification with

self-proving connection to

the ground ball & bolt.

•The ground ball & bolt can

be installed in few minutes

•It prevents loading until a

proper groung has been

established.• Automatically shuts off

loading operation if ground

is broken any time

Mass flow meter11

Coriolis Mass Flow meter uses

The Coriolis effect to measure theamount of mass moving throughthe element. This flow meter is used formeasuring lng in ttlf.

Fluid to be measured, runsthrough U-shaped tube that is vibrates by oscillating driver at itsnatural frequency.

Coriolis meter is comprised of two element a sensor andtransmitter.

It can directly measure the massof a flowing fluid & also measure

the flowing fluid density.

Page 12: ttlf

 Working priciple12

The arm through which fluid flows away from the axis of rotation must exert a force on the fluid, to increase its

angular momentum, so it bends backwards. The arm

through which fluid is pushed back to the axis of rotation

must exert a force on the fluid to decrease the fluid's

angular momentum again, hence that arm will bend

forward.

Filling operation

Truck should be in proper location on ramp

Ignition should be off, Wheels should be choked & truck should be

grounded.

Lng & Vapour arm should be with positive nitrogen pressure.

Operater calculate wt of truck. Check for residual LNG(heel) in thetruck tank.

Oxygen less should be than 3% of lel.

Once check list established downstream FV 13002 shall be opened.(

purging with nitrogen is to be done).

Operator calculate tare wt of truck in weigh bridge panel. By calculating heel operator calculate lng to be filled in lng truck. He

reset wt in weigh bridge panel & start filling operation.

13

Page 14: ttlf

Filling operation

By calculating heel operator calculate lng to be filled in lng

truck. He reset wt in weigh bridge panel & start filling

operation.

Some amount is constantly recirculated through FV 13003

(3600kg/hr).

Intially FV 13001 is opened 13% then it can ramp upto

83% .

When filling reaches to 98 % of filling capacity of truck, it is

again ramp down to 13 %( total lng filled = (total wt) – (t wt

+ heel).

After filling operation , by isolating system(closing movp

13001 & fv 13001). Lng is drain out from loading arm .

FIRE DETECTOR

The IR sensor is sensitive to radiation over the range of 2.5-3.0

micron.

The IR channel will register a detection signal, at the appropriate

level, when the IR sensor is exposed to radiation in the appropriate

frequency range, having an intermittent gleam pattern characteristic

to flickering-fire, and a preset threshold and time duration arereached.

The UV sensor is sensitive to radiation over the range of 0.185-0.260

micron.

The UV channel incorporates a special logic circuit that eliminates

false alarms caused by solar radiation and other non-fire UV sources.

Simultaneous detection of radiation in both the UV and the IR

channels having an intensity, which exceeds detector’s preset Alarm

level, will result in an Alarm

GAS DETECTOR

• The detection is based on infrared radiation passingthrough volume of air

• It employs a dual beam , dual wavelength with

separate optical detector.• Different types of gas have unique gas absorption

spectra. They can be easily identify by properselection of wavelength at which absorption is

measured.• By camparing transmission of two wavelenght , the

gas concentration in air can be determined

Pressure switch

Pressure switch is a form

of switch that makes electrical

contact when a certain

set pressure has been reached onits input.

This is used to provide on/off

switching from

a pneumatic or hydraulic source. The switch may be designed to

make contact either on pressure

rise or on pressure fall

Spill detector

Total we have 7 spill detector including 3 on skid atttlf

In spill detector pt 100 is placed where there is a

possibility of leak . If due to leak any lng fall on it .

Its resistance change rapidly giving an alarm aboutlng leakage

Level switch

• In a simple capacitance probe-type sensingelement, when the level rises and materialcovers the probe, the capacitance within thecircuit between the probe and the media or theprobe and the vessel wall , increases.

• This is due to the dielectric constant (k) of thematerial which causes a bridge imbalance. Thesignal is demodulated and amplified, then theoutput is increased.

• if medium is non conductive then it provide alarge change in dielectric constant

• If medium is conductive then insulated probe isused & capacitance is formed by outer surface of

insulation & electrode
