Evolution means there is no going back. Progress and a will to succeed urge us to move forward just a little bit more every day. For that reason, Grupo Condesa wishes to share its international growth and convey a new and unifi ed image as the leading company in this sector, with an increasing range of products with better features at the service of our customers.
The parent company of Grupo Condesa was founded in 1954, based on the Spanish company Conducciones y Derivados S.A. Today, this is a solid and expanding Group, the result of a combination of several initiatives based on a number of clear objectives: To become a leading international company through excellence, quality, experience and know-how, to resolve the problems of our customers and in this way, move forward and develop together.
Collaboration and coordination between the different members of the Group generate synergies that allow us to tackle large markets with guarantees and with an excellent capacity to respond to our customers’ needs. Thanks to our large international network, we are always very close to our customers, attending to their needs and providing solutions at each moment in time.
Twelve manufacturing companies through-out Europe.
Our sales offi ces can be found in Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands and Morocco. Agents in Gran Canaria (Spain), Ireland and Switzerland.
The Group is engaged in the manufacture of carbon steel tubes and profi les and stainless steel tubes also offering high value added solutions and products for many of the leading brand names in the most important sectors: automotive, construction, furniture, public works, etc.
Grupo Condesa
What it consists of
These are black steel tubes or with subsequent galvanising by immersion in a molten zinc bath. They are also called “gas thread tubes”, which can be threaded for general domestic or industrial fl uid installations (low-pressure water, sprinkler systems), although they are also applicable for other uses, such as greenhouses, etc.
This type of tube has high mechanical strength and for this reason perform better under tensile stress, pressure, compression, etc., and greater resistance to external impact and attacks. Their main advantages are as follows:
• Mechanical resistance.• Corrosion resistance.• Fire resistance.• Health.• Long life.• Overall safety.• Versatility.• Quality.• Quality/price ratio.• Standardisation.• Certifi cation.
They also have a low expansion coeffi cient at high melting temperature, and it is for this reason that they are highly resistant to fi re and high temperatures. Consequently, they have fewer problems with regard to stress and deformation in the presence of high temperatures than tubes with other characteristics.
In terms of health, tubes made with galvanised material are considered by the World Health Organisation to be the most suitable type of tube for drinking water.

Manufacturing process
• Forming
Manufacture of initial tube from 3”, 3” 1/2, 4”, 5” or 4” from the strip is used to supply the production line. Process similar to the one in a conventional tube machine (forming, welding and calibrating).
• Heating
The previously manufactured tube is subjected to heat treatment in induction furnaces, to prepare the crystalline structure of the tube for the subsequent process of reduction and drawing.
• Rolling-drawing-reducing
Based on the initial 3” tube, which is passed through successive stands (up to 1/2”).
Tube reduction and drawing process:
• Cooling-straightening
On leaving the rolling unit, the tubes are placed on a number of rollers cooled internally with water in order to straighten the tubes gradually as a result of the turning movement.

• Tube hot dip galvanising standards
The standard that regulates galvanising is the EN 10240.
Tubes must be appropriate for galvanising in accordance with European Standards EN ISO 1461 o EN 10240 with A.2, and A.3 quality covering.
Inside and/or outside protective coatings for steel tubes. Specifi cations for hot dip galvanised coatings, applied in automatic plants.
The characteristics of the galvanised coatings of accessories is included in the same standard EN 10242.
Accessory standards
The tube can be supplied with a socket. The sleeve must be in accordance with European Standards EN 10241 or EN 10242 and the choice of the standard and type of sleeve must be at the manufacturer’s discretion. The buyer will be informed about the standard to be applied and the type of sleeve that is going to be supplied.
Thread standards
The ends of tubes can be fi tted with tapered external threads in accordance with European standards EN 10226 -1 / EN 10226-2.

Supply conditions
A cover or plug can be used at each end of the tube to prevent the entry of foreign particles. The type of cover or plug is chosen by the manufacturer.
The tube can be supplied with a varnished thread or with a thread protection. The type of protection is chosen by the manufacturer.
The normal supply lengths are 6.000 mm. and 6.400 mm. However, it is possible to supply longer length tubes on a inquiry basis. The standard cut includes the tube without brushing and with total tolerances of 5 mm.
