Kindy Welcome to our 2019 kindergarten class. It is great to see how well they have settled in and are already making fantastic progress in their classroom and in the playground. Good Work!!!!

Canteen Thank you to Samantha Bruce who is running canteen this Friday. Orders were due this morning. Next week Jenny Stewart is cooking up BLT’s on Thursday 14th Feb. The order form is attached. If you have a simple lunch food that you would be able to prepare for our kids we would love to have you as part of our canteen team. Come and see Samantha on Friday, have a look at the canteen and see how the day works. If you are able to help please let Sam know so she can book you in.

School Swimming Carnival We had a great time at the carnival last Friday. I was so impressed with the effort of our competitors and behaviour of all our students. It was wonderful to hear from other teachers how fabulous Tucabia Kids are. Best wishes to Satriya, Kirana, Summah, Lachlan, Sarin, Ellie and Alana who will be representing us at the Small Schools carnival next Friday 15th December.

Library This year we will be having library on a Thursday for both classes. Please use a bag to protect the books and return the books regularly. Obviously if books are not returned new ones can not be borrowed.

Assembly Our first assembly of the year will be held this Friday at 2:30pm in the 3-6 classroom. Everyone is welcome to attend.

We Come To School To Work And Learn This is our first school rule and possibly the most important one. Having a clear expectation of what students role in their time at school makes their ability to succeed all the more achievable. In class this week we have been discussing students responsibility to be the best they can be and that it takes effort and persistence to achieve greatness. I am so pleased that this ethos is so strongly voiced in our homes too.

Thank you to the majority of families that recognise the importance of students coming to school every day.

If your child is away for some reason please be aware of the following legal responsibilities that you have.

1. You need to inform the school within 7 days of the absence giving a reason. After this time it is automatically registered as an “Unjustified Absence”.

2. If you are late or need to pick up early it is your responsibility to take your child to the front office to have them marked in or out of school. You will then be issued a late or early pass to give to the class teacher.
