Tuesday: A (Analyze the learners) - The class is made up of twenty High School Freshman. Three students have mild to severe ADHD. Twenty percent are African American and eighty percent are white. S (state objectives) - Students will complete a Web Quest assignment in five groups of four. The Web Quest will be a part of their final presentation at the end of the week. They students will begin to work on their project once they complete their Web Quest. Sonnet 18 will also be read and students will watch a YouTube video that teaches the class the basics of knowing what a Shakespearean sonnet consists of. S (Select methods, materials and media)- The students will go online and complete a Web Quest that I had made previously, they will also watch a short video of what makes a Shakespearean sonnet as well as listen to Sonnet 18 again. Before the students complete the Web Quest, I will show them the Voki that I created to get the students interested in what the project will be. U (Utilize Media and Materials) - When class starts, I will show them the Voki that I created and then I will put the students into their groups. Then the groups will share one computer and complete the Web Quest that I had created. Once all the groups have finished, the You Tube video will be shown once Sonnet 18 is read aloud once. R- (Require Learner Participation)- The students will take charge of what they want their sonnets to be about as well as keep their group on task to make sure they complete the Web Quest. E (Evaluate and Revise)- I will have time for in class discussion about what the students think about the sonnet as well as how do they interpret the sonnet when they first read it. I will also have students get into small groups as well and have more of an in depth conversation as I walk around the classroom and overhear what they are talking about.
