The Principal, Deputy Principal and fellow Heads of School are great teammates and you definitely have added values in my experience as the Head of National Secondary. As for fellow teachers, whom I have had worked with either directly or indirectly, you truly amazed me with your work commitment and teamwork. May your hard work touch the lives of our students and they will be citizens who contribute to the betterment of this country and the world at large. Last but not least, to the dearest students of Tunku Putra School, in your journey to pursue your dreams always strive to give the best version of you. Along the way, it is natural to have flaws in life and you will surely experience failures but that does not mean you fail. If you have given your best shot at anything you have done, that ‘failure’ is the beginning of a new pursuit. I would like to end with the following quotation by Walt Disney. However, our Form Five students from the National Secondary are still sitting for the SPM examinations until the end of November and until then, they will give their best in their examinations. Personally, this is going to be my last article for our School newsletter. It has been a great pleasure to have shared with you a few articles via these newsletters. This was surely a new experience for me and I felt the sense of accomplishment every time I get to read my articles being published! I truly hope that the subject matters shared in those articles are of some benefits to you. With that, I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and appreciation to the School management and community for the wonderful year I have had at Tunku Putra School. Indeed there are many fond memories to cherish – of beautiful people I have worked with and surely, the daily interactions I have had with my beloved students. In the course of my work, there are times where I have to constantly remind myself, Appreciate what you have, where you are and who you are with in this moment”. Throughout the year, I am grateful for being with the School and hence, as Personal Values Celebration This week we celebrate Myra Abdul Razak Tready of Tingkatan 2 for her thoughtfulness. Myra is a kind and thoughtful student who undertakes her responsibilities with care. She pays careful attention to details and strives for accuracy in her creative writing. Expressing her thoughts and ideas into a book is a good start from her more usual task. She shares her joy of reading with friends through exchanging some of her favorite books and encouraging them to read regularly with her. Myra who is devoted to her daily assignments, takes every challenges positively and demonstrates the capacity to live thoughtfully, to seek knowledge and reflect on her own learning. She listens rather than tunes out – an admirable quality that she applies wisely so that she is constantly growing in both understanding and virtue.

mentioned by John F. Kennedy, “we must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives”

Indeed I really appreciate the opportunity given to me by the management to render my service to the School. The Principal, Deputy Principal and fellow Heads of School are great teammates and you definitely have added values in my experience as the Head of National Secondary. As for fellow teachers, whom I have had worked with either directly or indirectly, you truly amazed me with your work commitment and teamwork. ‘All our dreams Can come true

If we have the courage to Pursue them.’

My Gratitude and Appreciation

Soon the school calendar for the Year 2017 will come to an end and it means the end of another academic year for majority of our beloved students. However, our Form Five students from the National Secondary are still sitting for the SPM examinations until the end of November and until then, they will give their best in their examinations.

“Integrative learning is a learning theory describing a movement toward integrated lessons helping students make

connections across curricula.” – Wikipedia.

An integrated approach allows students to engage in purposeful, relevant learning.

Across Subjects – Art [Creating & Constructing], Mathematics [Shapes & Sizes], Science [Environment - Recycling of Used Materials] and English [Writing & Oral], Moral Education [Personal Values]

The objectives were directly and indirectly derived as students

planned and created a model house

learnt about 2-dimensional shapes and the appropriate use of different sizes

made good use of recycled materials

wrote about the created model house

presented a short description about their model house to an audience outside of the class

put into practice personal values of cooperation, communication and thoughtfulness

The students were actively engaged and they had fun! As the teacher, the students have done well and I am proud of them. [Reported by Ms Christina Koh]

The 4 groups of Students

with their Model Houses

The students of IP3Bako and IP3

Gading were invited as judges.

They came over to the classroom to

listen to the group presentation and

view the creations.
