This workshop covers the principles/habits of productive writers and the importance of publishing, and then turns to look at all the other ways you can communicate the impact of your research.

Would you like to know the secret to high output, low stress scholarly writing? In academia it is often assumed that writing comes naturally. However, an overwhelming body of research shows that there are very clear and practical strategies that can greatly increase your writing productivity.

A lot of hard work and time goes into conducting research. And then more time and work goes into publishing the results. And yet sadly many papers are never read and many findings are never translated into practice. So how do you communicate effectively about your research and its impact? This is important to fulfil funding obligations, to create further funding and collaboration opportunities, to encourage the application of your findings and for your own career.

This interactive session will be followed by the next BONUS Young Scientist Club get-together, hosted by the young scientists of the Rostock University.

‘Seven secrets of extremely successful researchers’.

About the workshop facilitator Hugh Kearns:

Hugh is recognised internationally as a public speaker, educator and

researcher. He regularly lectures at universities across the world. His areas of expertise include self-management, positive psychology, work-life balance,

learning and creativity.

Hugh lectures and researches at Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia.

He is widely recognised for his ability to take the latest research in

psychology and education and apply it to high-performing people and groups. As a co-author with Maria
