II. Adjourn

ITEM III. CURRICULUM UPDATES

The Superintendent discussed with the Board that the conversion of PowerSchools and

Schoology are still a problem statewide. Our ACT scores have just been released and

are down considerably from last year, which Dr. Johnson feels is due to COVID. ACAP test

results are not in yet. Dr. Johnson’s primary focus this school year is on Curriculum and

Instruction. At our next scheduled Principals’ meeting, we will train principals and assistant

principals on using Blackboard, our school website.

ITEM IV. CURRENT ISSUES

The Superintendent gave the Board Members an opportunity to discuss their opinions on wearing

masks at schools. At the current time, the percentage of COVID cases at each school is small

in comparison to other school systems that are wearing masks. For the current time, a

suggestion was made that we continue to hold school without mandating masks, but

strongly suggest the use of masks and monitor percentages of COVID cases on a weekly basis at

each school.
