Who: High school students (grades 9-12)
Application Deadline: Please postmark by Monday, September 15, 2014 or for early submission, please postmark by Monday, June 16, 2014. The application form is included in this mailing. Please mail completed application without payment. Address can be found on the application. $80.00 participation fee due upon notification of acceptance. Fee covers all accommodations, meals, music, and other expenses.

Discount Available – If you choose to submit your application by June 16, 2014, your participation fee will be reduced to $65.00.
The Department of Music and Performing Arts offers three degrees — Bachelor of Science in Performance, Bachelor of Science in Music Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music. The program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
Dr. Paul Shewan, Director of the Honors Band Festival, is Professor of Instrumental Music at Roberts Wesleyan College where he conducts the Wind Ensemble and Orchestra. He is also Professor of trumpet and conducting. He earned a BS in Music Education from Roberts Wesleyan College, and both his MM in Trumpet Performance and DMA in Conducting from the Eastman School of Music. Shewan is guest conductor of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and numerous festival ensembles throughout the United States. He is a member of the trumpet section of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and performs chamber music extensively throughout the Northeast. He has recorded as soloist and conductor on the Albany Record label.
