COLLECT FOR CLUB WOMENKeep us, O God, from pettinessLet us be large in thought, in word, in deedLet us be done with fault-finding Mary Steward
April 1904 And leave off self-seeking.May we put away all pretenseAnd meet each other face to faceWithout self-pity and without prejudice.May we never be hasty in judgmentAnd always be generousLet us take time for all thingsMake us grow calm, serene, gentle. Teach us to put into action our better impulses, Straight forward and unafraid. Grant that we may realize it is theLittle things that create differencesThat in the big things of life we are at one.And may we strive to touch and to know That great, common human heart of us all, And O, Lord God, let us forget not to not, to be kind.
