BAPTISMS: Baptisms are held on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year. Register by calling the Rectory.

MARRIAGE: Arrangement must be made with one of the priests at least six months before the date of the wedding. Confirm desired date at the church before making other arrangements. At least one of the engaged persons (or their parents) must be a registered and active parishioner of St. Priscilla. Weddings are not scheduled on Sundays.

What do we need to do to gain eternal life? How should we live in order to be saved? I think many of us ask ourselves this question. Sometimes

consciously seeing a specific perspective, and sometimes less consciously simply looking for the meaning of life. The problem is the authenticity of the search. Seek and you will find, we read in the Gospel. Are we consistent in our search? The young man in today's Gospel seems completely determined to seek salvation. He also looks for answers at the right place. Despite this attitude, when he hears radical words from Jesus about selling everything he has, he leaves sad. How about us? What is most important to me? Is it what I have or the kingdom of God that I am looking for? As long as what we have in the world is more important to us than the values of God's kingdom, the search for God and His salvation is inconsistent. Of course, the man who came to Jesus then heard the specific call to sell everything and give it to the poor. After all, each of us is different. However, there is a rule that applies to all of us. We are to seek, truly desiring with all our heart, soul and mind God alone and salvation. Nothing should be more important to us than meeting God. Let us ask ourselves today, how much time do I devote to God every day? How much do I pray, read His word, attend Holy Mass, do something good for others in His name? To what extent am I able to put my strength and energy towards this, and how much of it does it take me not only to earn the proverbial bread, but also to spend time on entertainment, watching TV, vain talks or efforts to gain applause for myself? Let us not go away sad too quickly. First, let's try to realign the values in our lives, in the way that the Lord Jesus advises us, and let's not worry too much about anything. Then He will be truly able to care for us.

Co czynić, żeby osiągnąć życie wieczne? Jak żyć, żeby być zbawionym? Myślę, że wielu z nas zadaje sobie to pytanie. Czasem świadomie widząc konkretną perspektywę, a czasem mniej świadomie szukając po prostu sensu życia. Problem polega na autentyczności szukania. Szukajcie, a znajdziecie, czytamy w Ewangelii. Czy w szukaniu jesteśmy konsekwentni? Młody człowiek z dzisiejszej Ewangelii wydaje się całkowicie zdeterminowany w szukaniu zbawienia. Szuka też odpowiedzi pod właściwym adresem. Mimo tej postawy, kiedy słyszy od Pana Jezusa radykalne słowa o sprzedaniu wszystkiego co posiada, odchodzi zasmucony. Jak jest z nami? Co jest dla mnie najważniejsze? To co posiadam czy królestwo Boże, którego szukam? Dopóki to, co posiadamy na świecie jest dla nas ważniejsze od wartości królestwa Bożego, dopóty szukanie Boga i Jego zbawienia jest niekonsekwentne. Oczywiście konkretne wezwanie do sprzedaży wszystkiego i rozdania ubogim usłyszał ten człowiek, który do Jezusa wtedy przyszedł. Każdy z nas jest przecież inny. Jest jednak zasada, która obowiązuje nas wszystkich. Szukać mamy prawdziwie, pragnąc z całego serca, duszy i umysłu samego Boga i zbawienia. Nic nie powinno być dla nas ważniejsze od spotkania z Bogiem. Spytajmy siebie dzisiaj, ile czasu na co dzień poświęcam Panu Bogu? Ile się modlę, czytam Jego słowo, uczestniczę we Mszy św., w Jego imię robię coś dobrego dla innych? Na ile jestem w stanie zaangażować swoje siły i energię w tym kierunku, a ile z tego zabiera mi już nie tylko zarabianie na przysłowiowy chleb, co czas poświęcony na rozrywkę, oglądanie TV, próżne rozmowy czy zabiegi o uzyskanie dla siebie poklasku? Nie odchodźmy za szybko zasmuceni. Spróbujmy najpierw na nowo poustawiać wartości w naszym życiu, w taki sposób jak radzi nam Pan Jezus i o nic się już zbytnio nie troskajmy. Wtedy On prawdziwie zatroszczy się o nas.
