The first thing we are met with upon entering the website is their band name. It instantly stands out and so it should, as to let you know that the website is official and that it is the band name. Below this is the menu bar and by clicking on each button you can easily navigate throughout the website to find out news and information that you wish to seek.

One feature of the homepage that I like especially is the top half. Within this half you can see the bands newest music video and I would imagine that this is regularly updated as new music videos are released so that if you have not yet seen it and visit their website you can stumble across and view it.

Font ChoicesThe designer of this website has obviously taken the bands target audience into consideration as he has used a very formal serif font to greet their viewers, which conforms to the typical media stereotype that indie music fans are a more sophisticated species of human.

COLOUR

Despite the fact that there is a lot of white space used on this website, there are only 4 main colours used throughout the entire website. This is a very good feature as it allows the viewers to see colour used professionally. What I mean by this is that there is enough colour on the page to stop it looking dull ad boring, however it is not overcrowded with colour as this would give the website an unprofessional look.

Something that the website editor has done here is designated the whole right hand side to promotion, through social media, mobile phone apps, or ordering the bands new album. These links take you to any of the bands official associated pages and there you can catch up with the latest news, tweets, or even music if you have missed out on anything.

ORDER/DEMAND

What the band do with their headings, is give the website audience a demand, and this makes the viewer obliged to click the link, or visit the twitter page and even though you are shoving promotion at the viewer it is a very clever way of making them click links etc. without forcing them to do so.

Upon navigation, which they have made very easy, it is clear to see that the band have continued to use a common house style by using the same four colours featured on the home page. This keeps the page professional which is the look that is given off when you first enter the sight. The videos page appeals to the target audience of this band as they will want to see their favourite bands music videos as would any music fan. There is also a comments section to each video you view so that fans can leave their thoughts, and this is appealing because it gives fans the chance to share their thoughts in hope that the band may actually see the comment.

Every page appears to be very heavily image based. This appeals to the target audience as music fans don’t often wish to spend long periods of time trying to get to the point. This quick and easy method of using mainly images until wanting to find out more info by clicking each image is a very snappy easy way of keeping viewers from getting bored of the website.
